I remember that one....with just a little twist of the arm...and now she is yours!!!The Annoyed Man wrote:That's the light side! Glocks are the dark side!
BTW, I have that exact same pistol. I bought it from HighVelocity. It's a shooter and a keeper.
BTW...
I now have (3) 1911's.

Jeez, I love this forum, you guys are hilarious.
My next purchase will either be some custom parts for the 1911, or a revolver.
I've heard a Dwyers Group Gripper is a good upgrade for this pistol. Any opinions? Also, what does everyone think of the lasers that go in where the guide rod is?

I know that I'm not even close to being the biggest 1911 addict on this forum, and yet my safe contains:gemini wrote:you feed the addiction..... 1 is never enough .....you will buy others .....

• one 1943 vintage Ithaca 1911A1 which was my dad's WW2 sidearm
• one Taurus PT1911
• one Springfield Loaded, parkerized
• one Kimber Stainless Ultra Carry II
It used to also contain a Sig GSR Carry Stainless 1911.
They say that variety is the spice of life. If so, then you can have all the variety you want without ever leaving the 1911 world. OTH, Glocks are like Model T Fords. You can have one in any color you want - as long as it is black. I will give them this though: They are wonderfully reliable and rugged guns. My wife has a G19 and loves hers. It even intrigues me a little bit. There, I said it. Now I feel dirty all over.
Is there a confessional anywhere around here? . . . . .

I am sad to hear that you have contracted the incurable disease. Although there have been many practitioneers in Austria, Germany and here in America that have attempted to manufacture a vaccine, the truth is that this condition is not treatable. To ease your mind there are many with the same condition that provide a support group. Meeting at unscheduled times and locations we are willing to speak with those that have recently contracted the disease for hours on end. Rest assured that you are not alone.

The grip panels are a set of Pachmyar wraparounds I put on because my wedding band (I'm left handed) was starting to mark the finish on the front strap when I shot it. I still have the original grips. I used to shoot this pistol regularly, but I seldom take it out any more. Since I own other 1911s, I don't want to beat this one up too much. Other than the grips and a newer, heavier recoil spring to protect it from modern ammo, it is all original, right down to the pitting in the barrel just inside the muzzle. I still have the original spring too. Plus, I have the leather aviator's shoulder holster and two canvas magazine holders that came with it. Other than a few nicks here and there from honest wear, the finish is largely intact.

Re: I went to the darkside.....
I agree. I got the 1911 bug about a year ago and it has resulted in 2 in my safe, a Taurus and a Colt. I'm not real sure what caused it...maybe I watched too many episodes of Magnum pi. It's also resulted in me making the rounds at more than a dozen local pawn shops every month in search of another one. I feel they should be "rescued" from pawn dealersNTexas_V-Star wrote:apostate wrote:As someone who started with 1911s and now carries a Glock, you have my sympathy.NTexas_V-Star wrote:What an addiction!!

Whattup Bridge?
Grayson county, the county itself....is pretty cool; I enjoy living in this area. There's a noticeable lack of rifle ranges in the area....but I hear a rumor of one going in on highway 82 halfway between Sherman and Whitesboro.
As far as the college, I couldn't tell ya. I've been there a few times.....I know they aren't gun-friendly, but that's about it.
I feel the same about rescuing pistols from pawn dealers.....puts a dent in the wallet, but that's ok.
It just has to be the right gun.....I work next door to one of the best pawn shops in the area, and in my down time I can usually be found next door looking at the new arrivals, lol. I saw the Springfield the other day and I was all
