Oh yeah, I have no problem eating.

I have been told to bring 250 rounds and that will be more than enough.

I think the last round count I saw posted was in the 150 to 160 range... plus 6 rounds to chrono

200 should be enough? unless side shootout are done like in CAS.
Reasonable gun control is hitting your target with the first shot.

I've read the PSC-IDPA website and I see that there will be BBQ at the match but I have a few questions regarding other aspects.

Are there going to be any vendors there? Ammo, holster, concealment gear etc?

Also, having never been there, will I be able to back my truck up to a spot that will allow my wife to setup the big umbrella and chairs and still be able to see the action?

If I bring a big extension cord, will there be a place for me to plug it in?

Thanks,
Gary

Sorry, no vendors. Comes down to Club rules, insurance requirements, etc.

I can't think of any spots where you would be able to park your truck and still see the action, because of the layout of the bays and the fact that very little of the available parking occupies that sort of position. If there is any hope at all you'll need to be there EARLY, parking near the bays gets filled up pretty quickly.

Sorry, there aren't any places to plug in like that.

Last official round count for the stages is 156. And, as someone said, add for the chrono.

Thanx,
TraCoun

If I get there before 8pm on Friday for check in, what time do I need to be at the range on Saturday morning? I'm in squad 2.

Good luck to everyone participating! Hope everyone has a great day. I had planned on coming down to spectate, but my wife was working so I had the kids.

The Match is over and I learned a great lesson. One should never try to thank people for their efforts in making a major event happen in front of a crowd, while tired. It is too easy to forget those people who have done the most. Now that I have had a good night’s sleep and rehydrated my tired body, I’ll try to thank all those who made the 2006 Texas State IDPA Championship a success.

Tim Fisher – Who took the raw scenarios and developed them into the most interesting match I have ever shot. You worked longer and harder that anyone I have ever seen to make them move from paper to the range Tim thanks for the long hours and the commitment to getting the match together.

Marc Gentine – Who handled the registration, gave his expert counsel, and was always there when we missed something. Marc, thanks for making sure everything was there when needed, we had food for the match, and taking our numerous inputs and turning them into a great match book. Thanks also for the great story that tied the match together and gave us a vision.

Eric Achord – When I saw everyone working right at the limit of their endurance, there you were, working like the Energizer Bunny. You were everywhere, doing everything and did it with grace to everyone around you. Thanks for handling the details, making sure the big stuff was done, and encouraging me with your spirit.

Danny Stowers – Who was there applying himself to every task that needed to be done and always had a smile on his face. Thanks for all the work you did making sure things were set up properly and keeping things moving during the match.

Frank Lynn – Who laid the foundation for the match by developing the basic scenarios,. Thanks for giving us the starting point for the match.

Randy Allen and Dan Alford – I should thank each of you separately but you were such a team, it is almost impossible to separate the two of you. Thanks for the countless hours of work, the ability to turn our hair-brained schemes into actual devices, your desire to make the entire thing work flawlessly and your optimism about getting it done. You are both unbelievable. The term genius is overused but truly applies to both of you.

Bill Dittoe – Who was able to put together a tremendous prize table in spite of discouragement and apparent rejection,. I know there were times when you felt we would have no sponsors and nothing for the prize table, but you overcame the resistance and had a great table. Thanks for your determination and your persistence.

Al Liczwek – You took a Match Directors vision of making this a state match and turned it into a reality. You put together a great crew of Safety Officers from all over the great state of Texas. During the match you made sure every SO was cared for and had everything they needed. You also provided encouragement to each of them. Thanks for brining together a great staff of SO and your sweet spirit.

Charles Cotton – This really was your match. You guided, encouraged, reminded, ensured everyone stayed on track, coordinated, and were always there. You did more than anyone else and were present at every stage of the journey. Thanks for making this match a success by attending to every detail that needed to be dealt with either directly of through gentle reminders.

Safety Officers – Each of you did a great job, treated the shooters with dignity and respect and put a face on the match. Thank you for your dedication to the sport and commitment to the shooters.

Sponsors – Thanks for supporting the match and your confidence in our ability to pull it off.

Shooters – Without each and every one of you, there wouldn’t have been a match. Thanks for your participation, your support and your patience.

Sincerely,
Steve Vandermolen
Match Director

Charles, any word on when the scores will be posted online? I had to leave immediately after my last scenario so didn't get a chance to see the scores if they were posted at the range.

I just got back to FTW and I am beat. It was an awesome match and many kudos to all that made it happen.

My performance was less than stellar but I had a great time and learned a lot.

Three things I learned

1) I cannot count without using my fingers
2) Non threat targets don't get double taps to the head
3) It's not enough to listen to the course description, I actually need to follow it when I'm shooting.

There will be a lot of dry fire practice and many local matches for me between now and this time next year.
I will be back.

I am glad you made it back home safely.

I tried to be a sponge at the shoot and take it all in! I am sure that I met many of the people from here at the shoot, but could not put a face with a name. Every person that I ran into was a class act. I had a wonderful time! Thanks again.

Yeah. I have been guilty of not following those 2 rules either.

Not yet; I've been swamped and just got home at 9:00 pm today. I hope to have them posted tomorrow evening.

Sorry for the delay,
Chas.
