Tehy'd be picking up body parts for weeks.

that's why I got the extra ceramic plates for my tacticla vest. their measley AK47's rounds wouldn't hold up against all that body armor.

You sir make me sad. I would have thought with all your ninja training you could use those special boots to climb out of the way of the incoming rounds. Seems i heard a ninja once say that true ninjas dont require body armor.

In all seriousness, there is little reason to believe attacks like those in Mumbai can't or won't eventually happen on US soil. While I'm glad it hasn't happened yet, we've certainly seen criminal activity that had some of the basic elements. I'm speaking of the Washington Snipers, the North Hollywood BofA robbery and the Platt/Maddox incident in Florida.

Fact is, while there are a large number of OTM aliens detained and released at the southern border, the US has plenty of its own home grown problems. One reason the Mumbai incidents dragged on as long as they did is because the State had only 500-600 rifles to hand out to a force that hadn't trained for this and hadn't touched it's guns in 10 years. Our intelligence community is easily the best on the planet but, it can't cover every threat. Sooner or later, someone is going to guess wrong or a politician will decide an intelligence report does not suit his current agenda. When that happens, we'll have another 9/11.

I do think that among other things, the fact that a small minority of LE, military and even some civilians actually do train to respond to these incidents has acted as a small deterent. The domestic groups certainly know there are still armed citizens in this country who will not let them walk the streets, murdering people as they please. The non-domestic groups are just waiting for more American to become convinced that some how we deserve to be wiped off the face of the earth for being prosperous.
When you take the time out of your day to beat someone, it has a much longer lasting effect on their demeanor than simply shooting or tazing them.

Don't discount the possibility of copy cats who just want to get their names in the paper. There are plenty of nut cases out there.

You are right dead on the money there...

That is the inevitable...It will be unfortunate, tragic, hurtful and re-galvanize "some" the intellectually lazy who do not pay attention to these signs...Others will turn to candle-light vigils to make themselves feel better, and yet others will play the blame game, because that makes them feel better...

Seems to me that there are too many people who think it is more important to "feel" like things are ok...And when something like this happens...They feel better scrutinizing the efforts that have kept incidents like Mumbai from happening here...So far...
