I may be moving....

Post by seadawg221 »

Well, I have offically put my house in Crosby up for sale... http://www.16039spinnaker.com just so I can move closer to the Texas City Gun Range. I can't make up my mind whether to join PSC or pay for an annual membership to the Texas City Municipal Range.

I have found a nice house down in Santa Fe (closer to JBirds & Kinny) that would be much closer to the range than the 50 miles it is now.

Ya'll make room for me down south there will you fellas!!

Call me when you are ready to move! Seriously....I will take some time off and help. That is awesome news...kinda made up for the incoming rain!

Just think of it as a moving expense and pay for both ranges....roll it into the mortgage  \

Kimberly has finally agreed to let me join.....I have been wanting to shoot IDPA so bad I can taste it!

My goodness! You make it sound like the reason you are moving is to feed your shooting hobby!! Hey way to go!

When I first moved to TX and was house hunting, I saw a house w/ an office that has a lot of pro-gun stuff. I felt kind of weird; didn't go looking for guns though  That was during my 10 year "cease-fire" period.

I can imagine somebody who's anti-gun may get very uncomfortable in that situation. So, I'd offer you the suggestion (which you've probably already done) to:

Lock , put away your guns and stuff;
Maybe put them at a friends place. Or you can send them over to me for safe keeping while your house is being sold. I promise to regularly go shoot the interesting ones.

Good luck.

Seadawg, the putting your guns somewhere else is really a good idea. I was surprised, but when our Daughter & Son-in-law put their house on the market, that was one of the recomendations from the realtor. Guns, major tool chests, & Jewelry should be sent to family or friend. Seems that is one of the ways burglers case a place now.

Now that is a man dedicated to his hobby, or would this make it an obsession? Not that obsession is a bad thing.

As far as which range, why choose? Join both. I don't believe on range will feel cheated on.

Hey Terry

Come on down and join both like I do. both ranges are great but different and I would hate to be without either one.

Really the only thing around the house that would make anybody wonder if I had a gun or not is 1. The safe 2.A FN FAL poster in the garage other than those two things nobody would even think I had guns.

I guess we will just have to take our chances...I have a big tool box in the garage and the safe...I only plan on moving them once. If they get stolen I'll just get a bigger better one

I really appreciate the offers of help! You guys are great (not too smart though  )

Got a phone call couple of hours ago, someone else is making an offer on the house we want and I'm not willing to buy till I sell mine, only good thing is I know the other potential buyer is not offering full price.

Well, sure enough someone beat us to the house we wanted! I was really disappointed! My wife just said "it wasn't meant to be, something better will come along"...sure enough she was right!

We found a much nicer home in the Northern part of Santa Fe, I will be selling my house to a dear friend of mine and we are closing both deals on June 1st (WOW! I did all that fast). On the way to look at the new house for the first time I even found a gun range that I did not know even existed...I think the road it's on is FM 1266 (or something like that), I'll have to try it out, I think it's called A & R gun range?

Anyways, I wanted to share a picture of the new place with ya'll, we are really excited....it's everything we wanted...smaller house (700 sq ft smaller), a bigger garage (3 car), a place we can keep the Rv at home and a big yard (3/4 acre).

Front of the house...

Another gun range? Why, it looks like we could just shoot in the back yard! The place is beautiful.....I can't wait to sit out in my car and watch you labor over mowing that yard  Your dogs will enjoy plaing catch out there! Congrats.
