Don't forget, some guns from the same company can and are finnicky, even with HK's. Some Glocks go bang everytime with abuse and/or extreme abuse and some don't fire right out of the box!

A guy I work with has an XD that he has put over 19k rounds through and did a string of nearly 2k without cleaning and shooting it limp wristed with no failures using high pressure dirty ammo :fire

sounds like a winner to me
I'm on my second XD and have never had a single problem with it I will always own at least one XD if I can help it!

I have. They tend to have the same problems as Glock does, i.e. failure to feed, failure to fire(firing pin problem), failure to eject(broken extractor), trigger not resetting after firing. Most of it was due to crappy ammo being used, although most were shooting WWB. I saw one incident where an XD had slammed a cartridge so hard that when the guy squeezed the trigger nothing happened. The cartridge was too far forward to fire, a screwdriver was employed to knock the cartridge back out. The guy was using Blazer Brass ammo and WWB. The gun was then inspected and nothing wrong could be seen, so he tried again and it did happen again after 3 rounds fired, we got the round out again and the guy said he'd call Springfield and let them know what happend with his XD.
