Feed issue: I had no issue what so ever with the Cheap Ball ammo 94gr. But this Cor-Bon 90gr JHP give me this feed issue, if i use my thumb to push the slide foward, the round chambers, Maby 4-6lbs of pressure. I've applied a little bit of lite gun grease on feed ramp, but this doesnt help any.

I'm not sure you realize how fortunate you were.

I called my local Academy recently to be told that they had only received two LCP's since their introduction.

Their only suggestion was to call at least three times a week. Even so, I read reports here of them being gone within hours of hitting the store.

BTW, AJC Sports sold out of them at last weekend's Pasadena show selling them for $330 while Schramm's was trying to sell theirs for $419.

You should also buy a lottery ticket.

The Westhimer Academy manager said the houston warehouse just recieved 62 new ones, they should be shipping out to houston area stores this week or next, they get there shipments in on Mon,Wed,Fri so good luck. I've checked around other locations today, as i just found out about the gun today, and clerks were saying long waiting list.

I was in Gander mountian sunday and i believe i saw 1 there. ( 59south location ) might try calling.

Called my Academy Tuesday. They knew nothing about getting any LCP's in.

Either they haven't arrived at the other stores yet or they were immediately sold.

I don't know how large an area the Houston warehouse serves.

I found 82 Academy's in Texas, so that would be less than 1 LCP per store.

The houston wharehouse is regional to great houston area i believe. Manager said every houston area store should get a few in real soon.

The FTF seems to be an issue with the LCPs. I've read it here and on a coupe of other forums since the weapon was introduced. Seems like most have called Ruger and a new barrel assembly was the cure.

I have a P3AT with about 1k failure free rounds through it. I have shot Hydra Shoks, Silvertips, ball ammo and currently shoot Double Tap 90 gran Gold Dots in it. They are snappy but very accurate, feed perfectly exit the muzzle at over 1000 fps in my gun.

While the small guns like the Keltec P-11 or the Ruger LCP are small and do well with most 9mm loads, I would still recommend a more reliable pistol such as a Kahr. I've been carrying a K9 as my primary for a while now and owned it since 1998. It is small and easily fits in most hands. They have since gone on to make Polymer models in 9mm, .40, and now .45 (they are also coming out with a .380 model too). They have several "sizes" in those models to choose from, the smallest being the M models. These are REALLY small and should carry in a similar manner to the Keltec or Ruger models.

While I consider the steel Kahr's to be rock solid, my experience with their polymer pistols has been hit or miss.

I have two K-40's that I have no issue with and have been perfect.

I bought my PM-9 (2002, I think) and it took at least three years for Kahr to solve when they finally admitted a problem and did the barrel recall.

I bought a P45 that had several problems. After going back to the factory twice, they finally replaced it with a new one. Kahr always does right by you. They sent me one of the (then) new Diamond black finish guns and installed night sites for free. But the replacement gun still has one recurring problem from the original gun.

Don't get me wrong, I like Kahrs. Dorothy in cust service didn't appreciate it when I told her that I was willing to leave it in the safe for a year or two until they figured out how to fix them. But that's just what I've done. I contacted Dorothy after shooting the P45 for the last time in December 2006.

BTW, the recurring issue occurs about 30% of the time. It only occurs on the last shot of each mag. The last empty case gets jammed down into the top of the mag. You can't easily remove the mag nor clear the jam. It is not magazine related as I have eleven mags for it. (Each time they sent the first gun back to me and when they sent the replacement gun, they sent mags.) One of these days, I will take 200rds of ammo, load only 1 rd into each mag and arrive at an exact failure rate that I can provide to Kahr.

No doubt that I will be satisfied with the P45 eventually. This wouldn't be practical for anyone relying on one gun.

Thx for the info about the Kahr... however I wonder if this is a unique type of problem for >9mm Kahrs? I have friends with 9mm Kahrs that are 100% reliable. Of course I am attentive to this issue since I was planning to buy a CW9 for carry but maybe I should hold off.

The only issue I had with the K9 was using a bag of reload ammo. It would constantly stick mid-ramp. I only use factory loads now.

I've never heard of any issue with the K models, as they are all steel.

They've had years to correct the issues with the PM9 and I believe they have.

I've heard nothing bad about the CW series.

And I trust that one day, I'll be able to use my P45.

I continue to be intrigued with the above lightweight single stack 9mm pistol from Boberg Engineering of Minnesota. Smaller than the Glock 19, this new compact avoids the ballistic loss of the typical short barrel.Boberg found the extra half-inch of space needed to accommodate a four-inch barrel by placing the magazine directly underneath the firing chamber. The unique feeding method has apparently long been used in machine guns.

Interesting concept. Finish is nice. I just hope they make the standard one and not the shorty...it's just ugly.
