1911 holster
Looking to buy a quality holster for a S.A. 1911, Micro Compact. Presently checking out Tucker.
I had a VERY BAD experience with K & D holsters (details by private PM) so not them!
Any other recommendations?
Thanks

Re: 1911 holster
I'm a newbie to carrying, but I think I made a good decision ordering my custom leather holster for my Glock 19 from Eric Larsen of HBE Leatherworks, http://www.hbeleatherworks.com. I looked on the site, and his gun list has the 1911 listed.
I work at home, and I've been wearing my gun all day, every day around the house for a couple of weeks now in anticipation of my license, and it's very comfortable and stable. I don't see a need to purchase another one for any reason.
It took Eric about five weeks for him to make it and get it shipped to me. Of course, this will vary depending on his workload.

Mr. Benat:
You have been a very busy person today. How many forums does this make now? I lost count after about 10. I suspect there is more.
Please make sure you're factual in your story-telling of the events.

Re: 1911 holster
Probably need just a bit more info for us to be of any real help. Are you specifically wanting leather, or are you open to kydex or leather/kydex combo? IWB or OWB or shoulder? Are you wanting to find a slide that will accommodate both the compact and larger models, or do you want a closed-end holster that fits only the compact (but that does do a better job of keeping the muzzle clean)? That sort of stuff.
I personally settled last year on a CompTac MTAC for my Kimber Ultra CDP. For me, price and availability were great, and it's a good trade-off between the pure speed of kydex and the comfort of leather. It's proven durable and reliable. But there are, thank goodness, a lot of holsters out there.

Thinking Tucker?
They are awesome holsters. Be prepared to wait over 1/2 a year for one though.

Re: 1911 holster
I carry a 3" Kimber in a D.M. Bullard IWB Holster. It's pretty nice, and at $54.95, very reasonably priced for a hand made product.
Here's a picture of mine, including the mag holders I also bought from Bullard. In fact, I also bought one of his belts. And there was no wait for them. I got them within a few days of ordering:

What kind? Belt slide, pancake, paddle, shoulder, pocket, ankle, IWB, deep concealment? Do you want leather, kydex, hybrid, nylon, or no preference? What's your budget? I got a kydex IWB at a gunshow for $40 and I like it.jbenat wrote:Looking to buy a quality holster for a S.A. 1911, Micro Compact. Presently checking out Tucker.

Re: 1911 holster
Comp-Tac MTAC is what I use and it is the most comfortable holster I have worn. And you can buy different Kydex "shells" for it for different weapons. Very reasonably priced and usually in stock, no waiting.
