Only have handguns and a shotgun but I have been thinking about AR-15 lately.

Where is a good place to buy lowers (and what would I expect to pay)? And which one(s) are highly recommended for home defense? I hear you can take them hunting ... but ...

thanks,
Harold

Best place to buy lowers is at the gun shows. there was a table that had piles of stripped lowers. He was selling DPMS lowers for $109 out the door. I alays try to support my local gun dealer so i bought mine from him. I paid a little more but I didn't mind.

My rifle kit should be here in a coupe of weeks. I'll post up pictures when I get it.

While we're on the subject of EBRs, does anyone have any experience with firearms from POF-USA (Patriot Ordnance Factory): http://www.pof-usa.com/main.htm? I shot one of their .308s about 10 days ago, and have had a strong itch to buy one. It was an amazing shooter. I just don't know anything about the company, and I'd have to decide if I'll ever have enough money to keep myself supplied with .308 ammo the way ammo prices are going. :???:

It is because of this probability that I went out and bought a CX4 Storm in my favorite caliber .45 auto. This gun is a real tack driver out to about 75 yards. then depending on what rounds Im shooting, it starts to fall off pretty quick. Picked up a cheepie red dot for 30.00 and it was good to go. If I could afford it, I would be investing more SBRs.

The gun manufacturers must love it when it looks like a liberal takeover is eminent. I know of at least two guys that have bought a SOCOM and a Bushmaster AR just this month. One of them got 5 cases of ammo too. I wish I had that kind of dough to spend!

As far as Ron Paul goes, other than pulling out of the war, I like alot of his ideas. If he had the public speaking ability and charm of Ronald Reagan, I think he would stand a chance. Thing is though, he makes himself look like an extremist lunatic. What this country needs is a real third party, Ideally the Conservative Party. Unfortunately, in my own little opinion, like thats worth anything, Ron Paul is to the Republicans what liberals are to Democrats.

In reality, the only real choice we have is John McCain.

Don't go making threats you're not willing to carry out. Remember all those Hollywood liberals who said they'd leave the country if GWB was elected. Most, if not all, of them are still here.

Besides, there must be a better choice than France.

I guess my humor was lost on you :patriot:

Of course I remember Aleck Baldwin saying that. I'm still waiting for him to leave. Al Franken said he was going also, but now he's running for office somewhere up North.

Pierre Salinger did in fact leave, but he was a dual national to begin with. Died shortly after he got to Paris.

Not entirely. I figured your jester meant you were being sarcastic/humorous.

Guess that's your leg I just dropped, when it came off in my hand.

Apparently many people are thinking along these lines.
I spoke to a safe company today and they remarked they had 3 times the orders this months that they normally do.

Some people really should carry out their threats.

Why wait? It looks like the Republicans will nominate McClinton so a leftist will probably be our next President, male or female, black or white.

No desire to buy one if I can't get a real M4.
