It is evident that you are in good company. See above. How do you get a double tap here? I did not type it twice I am too lazy.

I am married, male, and older than most of you at 71. I am a retired engineer and worked about 35 years for the Federal Government. My wife and I moved to Texas when we retired after traveling most of the western United States (because of kids and grandkids).

I have had to renew my CHL for the second time so that accounts for 8 years plus. I seldom carry on my person but often carry a pistol in the car when traveling, so that was the main reason for obtaining CHL. I have been around guns most of my life and carried concealed whenever it seemed appropriate. Just decided to become legal after coming to Texas.

I haven’t posted anything before and doubt that I will post very much. I sort of tend to the theory that it is better to remain silent and be thought dumb than to do a lot of talking and remove all doubt. I do enjoy reading the posts and look at the website almost every day when I am around home.

Sorry I didn't make it in the thread before now, kbarrick, but from from another new member of the site, WELCOME!

And, as carlson1 mentioned, you will find a wealth of information here (or at least I have!), and with your experience I'm sure I'll be finding even more!

DOUBLE WELCOME IZ. Thank you for your service & I don't much care what tactics you use to get the right answer. We are glad you are on our side. Good carry rig sir. My son says OUTSTANDING!! Then laughs. He is a drill instructor at Lackland. Will sew on Master in July. Retire in 3.5 yr. Only question is are you a 24-7 carry or a sometimer. Expect it to be the first. We need more of you on the street as well as in uniform. :patriot:
