Age: 55
Gender: Male
Profession/School status: Currently between jobs and looking for a new one. (Unemployed due to death of company owner and selling off of company assets.)
Years CHL: Took the test on 12/8/07 and mailed my stuff in to the state on 12/10/07. Still waiting for my CHL to arrive

Under additional info...
I am married (20 years this coming July) and have one son who just turned 18 a few days ago. I'm a Christian, a guitar player (44 years now), and I play in my church's worship band. I've recently picked up hunting as a hobby, but I've been a rifle shooter for years and enjoy my trips to the range. I am, among other things, a web programmer, and I'm involved in several other gun-related discussion boards, including the friendliest one in Texas (where I am the webmaster) - huntingtexasonline.com - as well as a political discussion board that I've owned for years at annoyedman.com.

Hey Flint! Thanks for referring me over here. Seems like a good place to get the straight scoop on CHL.

Hello, found this forum two days ago and have been reading ever since. Great information here! Thanks to who ever started it.

57
male
retired (disabled)
married 20 yrs
CHL from the start (also had tactical pistol training and grew up with guns)
I now carry a Glock md22 (40 cal.) in a blackhawk serpa on the belt. Used to carry with paddle but it would eat my underware and made me sweat.
I like the belt a lot better.
Used to carry Colt 1911 45ACP and I love the gun but got the Glock because of high capacity. After having shot it for a while I want another one now.
Had my FFL for 8yrs because I wanted to be a gunsmith. ATF gave me so much grief I let it go. They tried twice to entrap me but thats another story.

Great Forum! Keep up the good work and Thanks!

Age: Over 60
Gender: M
Profession/school status: Lawyer, Law degree plus post graduate legal studies
Marital status: Married 37 years (to the same person)
Years CHL: Since 1998
Texas State Representative House District: 64
Carry guns/equipment: Usually one of these firearms S&W Rev Model 66, S&W Rev Model 24, or Norinco 1911 (modified some), plus Inova light, Kershaw Blur, cell phone

Any additional information is up to you. Whatever you feel is needed to "know" you better:
Retired military
More conservative than Rush Limbaugh, more libertarian (with a small "l") than Ron Paul. Favorite Fiction Author: L. Neil Smith (Libertarian in ALL caps).
An environmentalist, but only in a conservative, libertarian way. (Example: No clean air permit needed, but the president of the company must have plant stack emissions pumped through his or her actual residence. No water discharge permit needed, but all water drunk in company headquarters must come from plant discharge pipe.)
Spent 6 months in the desert as a gov't civilian supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom -- where I was not allowed to carry a gun[!]

Welcome! Glad to see another lawyer on board (is that three, or four?)

I like your choice of politicians and authors, too. I received The Probability Broach for my last birthday.
