Mmmmmmmm. Fried Turkey
I can't wait to return to Texas.
Since 17 September I have been to Kentucky, Louisiana, and am currently back in Mexico babysitting the Mexicans during a performance test. 6 days off since Sept 17.
My mornings are like the movie "Ground Hog Day" except Sonny and Cher aren't singing every morning. Maybe I need to download the ring tone so my cell phone plays "I Got You Babe" when the alarm goes off.
Have not sent rounds down range in almost 6 months.
I am bored to tears, I miss my wife and family. I don't have my handguns.
*sigh*
I do fly to Houston on Wednesday. Just spoke to Mrs. Anygun while she was planning the menu. My grandson will eat his first ever fried turkey this Thanksgiving. He especially like to sit on my knee and eat supper. I get a bigger slice of pie since he eats mine too.
Longhorns vs. the Aggies, family, food, and firearms.
This may seem a little early, but:
God Bless Texas.
God Bless all of you, your families, and have a happy and safe Thanksgiving! This board and all of you keep me company on the road.

I'll try.
Paraphrasing someone else on here, I do wear the pants in the family but Mrs. Anygun is the boss.

I am home now.
Mrs. Anygun reminded me that we are hooking up the 5th wheel to the superduty and heading to the Hill Country for a week of recovery.
Recovery=Shoppping.
Just kidding.
Thanks for the welcomes backs!

Properly done the chicken is stuffed with a quail and the quail is stuffed with an egg. I heard the person that invented this hated stuffing and wasted spaces.dukalmighty wrote:Fried turkey yummy, but i just read a recipe about where you insert a chicken into a duck, but not while the duck is alive, then you atick the ducken into the turkey, then you bake this hybird til done and they call it a turducken, first 4 letters might be a giveaway,I always thought you can't mess up turkey but by god somebody musta been on an acid trip when they thunk this one up

I hope your loading the cooker and oil up and taking it with you. In my book, nothing beats a fried turkey. I was indoctrinated in the early 90's and have fried all but one year since.anygunanywhere wrote:Mrs. Anygun reminded me that we are hooking up the 5th wheel to the superduty and heading to the Hill Country for a week of recovery.

...but I've never seen peanut oil $10/gallon before!
Drive safe, eat well, say warm, and stay away from the outlet malls.
