Well for me, you have to understand that I did not buy an MOS version and Suarez International did the milling and added the plate and the Holosun to my Glock 43x. I have a Glock 45 MOS and it came with plates and I've always been told that they are trash and the screws easily get stripped and aftermarket plates are the way to go to ensure trouble free operation.

That being said, if yours didn't come with a plate, C&H Precision offers them for your Glock.

I highly recommend the Holosun 507Kx2. Its a new version of the 507K and will fit the RMSC cut (Glock 48MOS and others) and the Romeo Zero cut. You can purchase it with red or green display. The dot is small, 2 MOA, but it also has a 32 MOA circle that greatly helps in target acquisition. It can be operated dot only, circle only, circle and dot or turned off. Controls are on one side and the battery tray is on the other side. The optic doesn't have be removed from the firearm to change the battery. One of the most important features for a self defense handgun, it has a shake awake feature. When you pick it up or draw the firearm, the optic turns on automatically. It will shut off automatically after 10-15 minutes of inactivity. Battery life is advertised at 50,000 hours, but I change the battery annually. There is also a notch in the rear of the housing that serves as a rear sight. You should be able to find it for under $300.

So when the gun is holstered, but you are just walking around in a normal day, is the optic lit up, or off?

Don't know how I missed this, but I just saw it today. I'm not sure if its on in the holster or not. But, my plan was to change the battery annually. I ended up changing it at 16 months and it was still working. I probably carry it at least 40 hours a week. The screw holding the battery tray in fell out a few months ago. I emailed Holosun on a Monday and I had 3 new screws in the mail on Saturday.

I run the holosun 407k green dot version on my 48MOS. Love it. You will need this to run the holosuns.

I did the same with my G48 and G43. I put a Trigicon RMRcc on them and have had great success.

Did the Trijicon RMR need a separate plate for your 48 MOS?

I apologize Joe my friend I just seen this. No sir because my slide was cut for the RMR. Mine is not a MOS model. I had a G19MOS for a while and I DID have to have the Trijicon Sealing Plate.

No problem Carl. I still have not gotten a red dot and probably will not. I find myself looking at a Glock 45 or 19X now. That would really step up my game.
