So the ATF has delivered their opinion on this, like they delivered their opinion on bump stocks. My question is whether any of these things have actually been found to meet the legal definition of a machine gun by anyone who's opinion matters (i.e. an actual judge)?

No. The triggers are designed to meet the letter of the law and have been available in various forms for decades.Soccerdad1995 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 18, 2021 10:07 am So the ATF has delivered their opinion on this, like they delivered their opinion on bump stocks. So basically buy and use at your own risk at this point? The ATF has made it clear that they will take the position that you need to pay an NFA tax and get it registered. And ultimately you might end up in court.Paladin wrote: ↑Mon Oct 18, 2021 10:54 amNo. The triggers are designed to meet the letter of the law and have been available in various forms for decades.Soccerdad1995 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 18, 2021 10:07 am So the ATF has delivered their opinion on this, like they delivered their opinion on bump stocks. I thought they had approval from The ATF to manufacture those trigger before they even went into production! If they did then they should be reimbursed from the BATFE budget!

You won't be able to register this trigger as a machine gun and pay the tax because it must have been registered 35 years ago (1986) to be legal.Soccerdad1995 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 18, 2021 10:56 amSo basically buy and use at your own risk at this point? Unfortunately due to the Hughes Amendment, paying your NFA tax and getting it registered is not an option for most.Soccerdad1995 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 18, 2021 10:56 amSo basically buy and use at your own risk at this point?
