YMMV. A few weeks ago they had .22LR for 20cents/rd but those prices have come down. I'd respectfully suggest to folks that in this current market they may wish to price check their regular go-to sources.

I quit shopping there because they were gouging during the Obama ammo shortage. I just checked the ammo prices and the prices seem in line with other on line ammo suppliers. So I don't know what the complaints are on. Maybe firearms.

Uhhh... wait a minute! I did some further checking. They are charging an extra 10 dollars for fifty of some of the lessor quality ammo. Seller & Bellot at 25 dollars for fifty rounds? Yeah, they are up to no good.

Sorry to hear that SGAmmo might not be the lowest or one of the lowest ammo suppliers, I've bought cases of ammo from them in the last few years. They can charge whatever works for them and their customers - the market basically sets the prices.

Before we jump on the bandwagon to deride SG or any other retailer regarding ammo prices (except maybe CTD, those guys are smoking the good stuff apparently), check out this post from Palmetto State Armory’s FB page a week or so ago.

Our reputation is built on our ability to provide you with quality products at competitive prices. You have an expectation of great quality and better pricing when you shop with us, and we know that.

The current state of the country has been hard on all of us, and it has certainly placed a strain on supply chains around the world - specifically on ammunition. Ammo is now carrying a price tag for us that is higher than what we sold it to you for just a week ago. Our cost to acquire ammo is up overall.

Unfortunately, we have lost the ability to negotiate with suppliers due to the current demand. Typically we could use our size and buying power to negotiate pricing and terms that are passed on to the consumer. As demand increases our negotiation strength decreases. Our prices rise and when that happens, we have to pass it on.

Every round of ammunition that was in inventory (purchased under our specially negotiated programs prior to this event) is gone. What you see for sale now is brand new inventory that we've had to purchase at much higher prices.

One specific example from a quote we received today: normally we can buy a 50 round box of a particular ammo for $7.50 and sell it to you for about $8.99. Today, we were quoted $11.50 for that same box. A four dollar (~50%) increase in cost. For our margins to stay the same, so that we can stay in business, our price on that box would now need be about $13.50.

That's not what you expect from us, and we understand that. But that's what the market, the news and the public demand has given us at this time.

I do know that ammo had started to creep back up in the several months before the craziness, so it’s likely that much of what we’re seeing is the result of the panic and a general price increase across the industry.

Placed an order with Target Sport USA on 17March. Their website said ship in 10-15 days. Wrote 02Apr asking for order status update, they replied they were still shipping orders from 12-16March. Got an email from them on 10Apr that shipping ticket was created. Order still hasn't shipped.
They did send me these order numbers to explain delays and said they're working 12-16hrs day with reduced staff:
12Mar20 - 15 orders
13Mar20 - 31 orders
14Mar20 - 431 orders
15Mar20 - 485 orders
16Mar20 - 3473 orders

OTOH, ordered some ammo from Bud's on 07Apr20 and received it today.

A lot has changed in the ammo business over the past 40 days as the Covid-19 outbreak created the largest rush to purchase ammo in all of history. Supply has been badly diminished, and bottlenecks in manufacturing and distribution will continue cause shortages for months yet to come. From what I am seeing the worst is yet to come on ammunition availability which I believe will reach its worst in the next 30 to 90 days. The buyer's market conditions which I have talked about in so many prior newsletters that brought ammo prices to 12 year lows in 2018, 2019 and early 2020 have passed. I hope most people followed my advise in the past and stocked up while supply and prices were at their best. At this time supply has for the most part been bought up, most ammo factories and importers have done substantial price increases, and moving forward availability will be limited to what the factories can make and allocate to their distributors. Covid-19 has caused some ammunition factories in Europe and Russia to close and / or reduce production, and most likely that will spill over here to some of the manufacturers in the USA at some point. I'd love to stay positive but realistically there are dark times ahead for the ammunition supply chain. All things considered, I believe we still have some decent deals in stock, admittedly not as good as they were, but not as bad as I expect them to become. If you are sitting on large quantities of ammo it might be wise to sit it out for a while but if you are short in supply it might be a good idea to get a few cases before availability gets worse. OK, ammo is like ANY OTHER COMMODITY. The price goes UP, and DOWN, based on the rules of economics. For those of you who didn't learn this; it's SUPPLY verses DEMAND. When SUPPLY is HIGH, and DEMAND is LOW, as it's been since Trump killed the Hilldebeast; Ammo, and gun prices have been LOW for the past few years. TIME TO STOCK UP.

Once uncertainty starts creeping in again leading up to an election year, folks get a bit uneasy. THEN, this gift to the Democrats occurs, and ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE. All of the Noobs who used to hate guns see the store shelves empty, and realize that OH _______, there might be food riots, and I NEED A GUN. THEN, all of the folks who have been sitting fat, dumb and happy thinking they didn't have to worry about ammo or gun prices again realize that we're about to go back into the Obama days and freak out and start buying up everything they were thinking about buying for the last three years. So PRICES GO THROUGH THE ROOF and SUPPLY dries up....

The result is, as you would expect, once again if you had ANY understanding of economics, STOCK SHORTAGES, and HUGE price increases. Supply and Demand Folks....

I've been buying from SGAMMO for many years. Actually just bought a bit of defensive ammo for my little pocket revolver at the same price they charged BEFORE this mess. They are honest, efficient, and fair. UNLIKE Cheaper than Dirt - may THEY go out of business sooner vs. later. I've also bought from other sellers, based on their price and reliability to deliver what I was looking to buy.

If you can find a cheaper place, then absolutely go buy from them. That's what Capitalism and our market economy is all about - THANK GOD..... Every seller and their distributors get different ammo in at different prices all of the time, so absolutely get your best deal, but don't trash a legitimate company for raising their prices when their suppliers jack up their prices to reflect supply and demand.

Not to rub it in, but, if you didn't learn your lesson in the Obama years and stocked up while guns and ammo where at their lowest prices in the last decade or so under Trump, you have NO right to whine about what it costs to buy it now, IF you can even find it.

If you're still with me in this long post, and if you want to make sure this isn't a PERMANENT situation, or WORSE, recruit EVERYONE you know to go out and vote for Trump in November. Like him or not, he's absolutely been putting America first and working to reverse our slide toward Socialism. The alternative is the end of America as we know it, and the absolute LOSS of our Second Amendment and most of the other RIGHTS we have under the Constitution.

I second that. Even now their shipping is quick (placed order Friday evening, received notice Saturday with FedEx tracking that the order is being shipped). Prices are as far as I could tell no different than in February etc. Great selection.

Bought some ammo from Bulk Ammo today and had shipping information within 4-5 hours.

This WuFlu has brought on the Zombie Apocalypse - ammo supplies are almost as bad as when Obama was in office. Who would have thought that 00 buckshot would be hard to find?
