I carry it with 357 magnums. It really is a matter of technique to handle the hot stuff in an 11 ouncer. Grab it as hard as you can...now grip it harder... you’ll be ok. CRUSH grip is all it takes.

Re: What is your favorite carry revolver
S&W Model 60-15 Pro Series, 3” barrel, in .357 Magnum. Excellent trigger and sights. Recoil with full-house Magnum loads is brutal, but it’s tolerable with the 125 gr Winchester PDX1 bonded JHPs I carry. I might switch to 110 grain Winchester white box JHPs, which I have found easy to shoot, or a 110 gr XTP hand load I’ve experimented with.
I got a Pachmayr Compac grip to try and mitigate the recoil, but have found it much more comfortable to carry with the factory wood grips.
My only complaint is some of the screws like to walk out a little under the recoil of any substantial number of magnums. Easy enough to tighten, and maybe I should just use some blue Loctite, but it is annoying.
I’ve been thinking of giving the SP101 Match Champion a try. I’m told it handles magnums better, but holsters seem hard to find, and I am not sure how concealable it is with its 4.2” barrel.

My old issued 2-1/2" M66 S&W. Loved it then as now, M60 2" sometimes goes in boot top as it did along time ago.

I still throw that 340M&P in a pocket once in a while, but NEVER AGAIN with full-house 158 grain "express" loads! Hornady 125 gr FTX .357 stings the hand a bit, but it’s not nearly as terrifying as the heavier loads, and per Hornady, it develops 1200 fps/400 ft-lbs in a snubbie.
I recently bought a 5” S&W 327 TRR8 from carlson1, but haven’t carried it yet. I still haven’t gotten around to shooting the thing, and don’t want to carry it until I get a feel for how it shoots. But, it’s a fair amount lighter than my 5” Model 29 of the same size, so it shouldn’t be too heavy to carry, and it has GOT to be softer shooting than the 29. I’d probably use it primarily as a outdoors/hunting/camping sidearm, rather than as a daily carry.

TAM,
I have the R8 cousin of the TRR8 that you have (virtually identical). They are very pleasant to shoot. You will enjoy it.

Re: What is your favorite carry revolver
Good to hear. That’s what I’d expect, for no other reason that shooting the 340M&P with full house loads is kind of like Hulk smashing Loki:
Anything else is better.

Re: What is your favorite carry revolver
I like shooting it with 357 magnum at the beginning of a shooting session; it makes everything else feel like a 22.
