Lazy eye question

Hey guys, it has been a long time since I have posted. All I can say is sorry!

I took a few ladies out shooting this last weekend, and one of them had a "lazy eye" and has said that she has never been able to shoot because of it. She tried a few handguns and really didn't do well. I asked her to try my AR with an Eotech sight, and she TOTALLY loved it and was shooting tight groups (for someone who has never shot an AR before)

My question is, not knowing about "lazy eye" stuff, if I get a red dot on one of my Glocks, will this open up shooting for her? She was so happy being able to sight in and fire my AR, and she wants to know if she can put that kind of sight on a handgun.

I will tell you, going to the range and making someone like her love it was awesome.

So my right eye is a bit "lazy" and fuzzy. The other day at the range i tried shooting rt handed (normal) but used my left eye. I did the same if not better than rt hand and rt eye. Then i tried left hand and left eye, didn't work well!
1) have her try her other eye
2) meet a friend who has the setup that you are looking for her to try! (I do not) i only have the dot scope on a rail.

I don't know how "lazy eye" effects someone being able to use regular sights, but I am familiar with cross eye dominance. It may be that she is trying to sight with the wrong eye. If you take her shooting again, have her move the handgun in front of her other eye, and see if that helps. The red dot may help her more though because it doesn't require lining up a front and rear sight.

Older lady, one eye looks a different direction than the other. Using iron sights did not work at all, but the holographic sight worked wonders. I am no eye doctor!

I really like my eotech, and it seemed to work for her. Would a pistol red dot (like burris for a Glock 34) work the same? I am thinking it would.

She has to use her dominant (non-lazy) eye. If she does not see double, she will see flat-field with not stereo vision. What it means, her dominant eye is taking over her brain vision duties 100% of the time. If she is not cross dominant, she would shoot just fine. If not, she has to shoot dominant eye, dominant hand. This is where Red dot Holo sights are more comfortable to shoot.
