What Last Preparations Have You made For the Inevitable?

I don't have the funds to stock up on ammo and firearms. As many have said all we can do is put our faith in God and follow the path he wants us to take.

I'm not a foil hat kind of guy, and I don't see the end coming anytime over the next few days. But I DO think we are ripe for some rioting and unrest, and as such I am prepared to get to where I need to be and defend me and mine.
All that said, let's continue to put our faith and trust in a God who protects, redeems, and restores and who knows our needs before they are even on our lips, a God who sits on His throne never to be moved, despite the evil schemes of men. Can I get an Amen?!
That was exactly the message at church on Sunday. no amount of planning can ever account for all scenarios, no amount of preparations cannot be lost to unforeseen forces, but there is one thing that is constant, and his timeline, does not match ours. In fact, if you want to hear God laugh, tell Him your plan.

I hadn't really thought about it, but you are probably right about the last two.Abraham wrote:Ammo will be the gold standard right along with booze and terbacky.

In a WROL situation, food, water, shelter, security and sanitation will be vital. (I lump medical in with sanitation) I have all those cover pretty well. The biggest thing I have done recently is to get involved with the convention of states movement. It's time to reel in Washington regardless of who is elected and I would rather we do that through a legal and Constitutional process. Prepping to head off disaster may be more valuable than prepping for disaster itself.

I am a firm believer that history has a way of repeating itself. When I compare the situation we are in at this moment to other uprisings, I tend to agree that we are close to the edge. There is a lot of anger and distrust toward the government right now from all sides. The turning point tends to be when anger overcomes people's fear of their government. Right now, we have agents of the government (police) being actively targeted and killed. That seems to pretty much meet the definition. I think all we need is a bit of a spark. A Trump victory could be that spark.Ruark wrote:It's easy to sit back and snicker at those who talk about this question, but the reality is that we're suprisingly close to the edge. It wouldn't take much to throw us off the cliff. People want to just sip their Starbucks lattes and they're happy. Don't get me wrong, I'm not into foil-hat paranoia, but I'm not in denial, either.
In my opinion, the primary threat is not U.S. Army tanks rolling across your front yard, it's societal breakdown. The Center for Disease Control recently did an analysis and projected that if the national power grid went down, 98% of the population would be dead within 2 years, mostly from disease and violence. ISIS is fully aware that there are just NINE power stations such that, if they were all taken offline, would bring down the national grid and throw us back to the 1700s in about 30 seconds. No gas, no water, no electricity, no communication. But this could all happen in a variety of ways besides power grid failure: economic collapse, epidemic, political/social uprisings, water shortage, electromagnetic pulse, etc.
Again, not to be paranoid, but you might find it interesting to read this well-known essay. Not a pretty read, but still a sobering picture. Think "Rodney King riots X 10,000." React how you want, just don't tell me it can't happen.

I hope I am worried about nothing. But I did ask my wife to work from home on Wednesday just in case Trump wins. She works in a bad part of Houston and she is required to be unarmed at work.

We all hope that we are worried for nothing. I am typically optimistic and naively under the impression that people are good and always have good intentions. This year has brought out the worst in "us." I fear for my loved ones safety just as much as you.Soccerdad1995 wrote:I am a firm believer that history has a way of repeating itself. I pray for the safety of our fellow man, regardless of who they voted for. We should all be able to go home safely to our families, but until then... Carry often.

Many thought Noah insane to build a boat. The United States, and the Constitution will not survive another Clinton Presidency and a collapse of the rule of law - it is insane to even contemplate such a thing.

I believe the basic political division in this country is not between liberals and conservatives but between those who believe that they should have a say in the personal lives of strangers and those who do not.
