To be honest....I don't read the gun reviews anymore because they are all full of sponsors and afraid to tell the truth in most cases.

American Handgunner (I love the pictures!) and American Rifleman are what make it to my reading stack. I am really considering stopping the American Rifleman and allowing the NRA to keep the printing/mailing fee.

I don't subscribe to any, but I do like to go to Barnes & Noble and browse, and I'll pick up anything that looks like it has several good articles in it.

Do America's First Freedom and TSRA Sportman count? They keep me aware of legal issues.

I don't read commercial magazines because (IMHO) they are mostly hype, and everything they have to say is available on the web.

Gun magazines are like boat magazines, they are nothing but catalogs disguised as news. I get one of the ones that comes with the NRA, but I haven’t looked at it l enough to remember which one it is.

I subscribe to America's First Freedom & purchase over the counter Combat Handguns. CH writes articles on real life experiences & speak on Self Defense & the Law. This month: Courtroom dead end, words that can hang you. They usually post at least five different cases, sometimes more.

Articles such as these draw my attention.

I don't buy gun Mags for the pictures. They have some good articles. Really, honest they do. I swear!!

Now that my wife says I'm too old for comic books I read gun rags. You can get some really good laughs in them.

Combat Handguns is great

others I pick up on a regular basis are:
Guns and Weapons for L/E
Soldier of Fortune
American Handgunner (been trying to win the GotM for over a decade!!)

As for magazines, I tend to stick with Wilson Combat for my 1911s. For the XD, the Springfield factory mags are first rate...

Oh, those kinds of magazines. I still have a subscription to American Handgunner; Ichi's photos are great, but I like the columns by Clint and Mas. I get American Rifleman and TSRA Sportsman with the memberships; ditto with the IDPA Tactical Journal.

Right now, I just get the NRA publication America's First Freedom. I've been considering a subscription to Women and Guns magazine.

Thanks to Barnes and Nobles, I don't have to spend money on Gun magazines.

Combat Handguns and American Handgunner are usually not too bad.

I really dislike the gun reviews where it seems that any time the shot group is not consistent, it's the author's error.
