Gun show help

#1

Post by longtooth »

There are 2 gunshows in driving distance for me this weekend. The 10th. One is High Caliber in Tyler. The other is Saxet in Conroe. I would have to look at the map to see which one is ten miles closer so distance will not be a factor. Who has been to them both & which would you recomend & why? There will be several going from our church. Some to purchase a gun, others to look at as many as possible for learning what they like the feel of, me for reloading supplies. I have been to Conroe but not to Tyler. Speak wise ones. :D Thanks.

The Conroe show has been growing recently after a period of decline. It has been well attended and has had a good dealer showing. Not a good as Reliant or GRB but nice for a local show. I can't speak to the Tyler show as I have never attended.

Both shows I believe are traveling shows that appear in cities and towns on fairly regular basis...

I believe both are good, in so much, as they bring in the regular vendors that sell and provide the usual wares and services...

I know you're caught between two good opportunities, and seeings how gas prices are still a bit up there, I'd flip a coin, and go to just one...

Oh...Have fun!

Don't do anything I wish I could do...

Come to the Conroe show. It's as good as any. Besides if you come to the Conroe show, let me know and I can finally give you that brass.

I've never been to the "Conroe show" so I don't know how it compares to Tyler. I live about 20 miles North of you, so Tyler is where we usually go.

Its generally a pretty decent event, and we have no trouble getting the ladies to go, because they like to shop at the Mall while we "men-folk" cruise the gun show.

Hope you guys and gals have a great time wherever you choose to go.

Thanks flintknapper, this one will be for several ladies in our church that have recently learned to shoot. You met one. What about variety & a really wide selection to look at for those that are just learning what they will like & what feels good?

I'd pass on it for variety, in as much as it concerns handguns. The Tyler show will have at least 50% of its inventory in rifles/shotguns. If your purpose is to let them "handle" the largest number and variety of pistols.. then Conroe makes better sense.

Later on, if you guys would like to go the Tyler show, let me know, and I'll get my group together as well.
