How many rounds per year?

Re: How many rounds per year?
Does shotgun count? Maybe 3000 a year. My wife doubles that number. Pistol and rifle probably 500.

Re: How many rounds per year?
Some years back when I was really serious I shot 500 targets a week shooting Registered trap practice and reg shoots
Age hit so I went back to action type pistol matches and shot 3 a week for a very long time, they were more fun and less serious.
Now probably 300 a month total most here at home or at my club and a monthly match or 2. I still love lo light or night matches.
Age sucks !

Re: How many rounds per year?
I've kept a round count for a lot of years. Including all my firearms, I average between 6,000 and 7,000 rounds per year. Wish it were more, but weather slows me down sometimes.

I have a Silencer Co Sparrow, it does have a pretty good first round pop using High velocity ammo like Remington Golden Bullet and such, I have been using Norma Standard velocity ammo as of late and cannot discern any type of first round pop in my 22/45. I have been able to eliminate the first round pop with a puff or 2 of water from a Afrin bottle though. Definitely no first round pop on .22 rifles, just pistols. Overall I love them, actually have 2. They are easy to disassemble and clean, I like that about them.dhoobler wrote:I am looking for a suppressor for my 22/45. I want one with maximum suppression and lowest first round pop. I think I want a AAC Element 2. What do you have? Would you recommend it?Weg wrote:Now that .22 is easier to get i'll push 3-5,000 rounds of that this year, love my suppressed 22/45! As for everything else, maybe 1,000 rounds of .45 and 500- 1,000 of .300 Blackout. Don't shoot much .223 anymore.

Re: How many rounds per year?
I "try" to make the range once a month I usually go through 100 to 150 9 mm rounds per trip. As far as rifle and shotgun I usually only shoot about 50 to 75 rounds of shotgun per year and about 30 rifle per year. I haven't taken the plunge for an AR yet but it's on my next to buy list so that should increase my rifle round count significantly.
When I get time to go hunting, my shotgun round count goes up ( I'm left eye dominant so I fire a lot of warning shots)

Re: How many rounds per year?
4000-5000ish never really counted. Just thinking back about how many boxes of primers did I use. 1000 per box.
Then another 800-1000 12 and 20 gauge shells.

Probably around 1500 to 2000 per year just shooting and training. Don't do any strictly recreational shooting (plinking) although always have great fun while training and practicing.

12-14k per year. Keeping it around 10-12k this year with more (any is more) dry fire.

Re: How many rounds per year?
I go to the range on average twice a month. I never shoot any less than 500 rounds. Last weekend was 500 rounds through the Sig Nightmare and 200
.40 rounds through the Baby Desert Eagle \ Jericho. I'll sprinkle in 2-400 rounds through the AR every other range trip.
So I'd say on average I shoot 10-12,000 rounds a year through various pistols and probably half that through the AR.
And now I know why I'm broke all the time.....

Re: How many rounds per year?
About 2500/year. The lion's share of that is 9mm with a fair amount of .22 as well.

Re: How many rounds per year?
Comparing my round count to others I think I may have a problem and now see the reason my wife thinks I spend too much time at the range.
I love shooting steel challenge and mostly do that with two R8 revolvers one Optic and one iron sight. Over the last three years I have really worked on that as I discovered that it improved all my handgun shooting skills.
Practice on revolvers is a 600-1000 per week so go low and say 30,000 per year.
Steel matches another 2-3000 depending on which matches I go to.
I also shoot two M&P COREs in USPSA and 3/gun so another 3-4000 9mm.
Carbine, just for 3/gun maybe 2000
Shotgun 3/Gun maybe 1000
That's roughly 39,000 total plus what I use "playing" or teaching.
Kind of scary to add it up, however I was gonna guess 40,000 so I'm in the ball park. Uh I mean the gun club. LOL

Carry safe and carry when and where you can. I'm just sayin'.
