My thought exactly.
:iagree: I don't do any social media websites. Wife does Facebooks, as do daughter. When I look at what they are looking at, all I see are receipes, dogs, cats, and cutesy poems.

When I want a pistol, or shotgun, or rifle, I go to the auction websites that I know & trust.

I like it though. I haven't sold any that way but occasionally I'll see a nice antique and either try to haggle or just watch what it goes for. I'll keep selling to/through my FFl but a lot of people will lose a way to sell off private guns with this news.
I made a private party sale of a Kahr CW9 by posting it on a gun-trading closed group on Facebook.

Starting to see some very creative posts mocking FBs stand. Some of them are down right entertaining.

I've bought and sold many items from cars, appliances, to guns on Facebook. It is a great place to do business. I've heard the email is fake as none of my 20 firearm for sale pages are down.

Sorry to say that the vast majority of "tech" companies and many of their employees are very, very, very liberal and some lean heavily towards socialism. So this is not a surprise. I think that the "tolerant" lefty tech companies will continue their choking of free speech by people that use their services. This has already been seen on other sites such as Youtube pulling hickok45 for a short time. Youtube is owned by Google which is very anti gun. But they can do it because they are a business and not a government entity.

I am not on the facebook, nor ever will be. Their move, however, is very typical of the "free speech, we tolerate others, except for speech and others we don't like" culture... I think they call them folk, "democrats."

Facebook has "jumped the shark" as they say. Kids view it as something their parents are on, and have migrated to other social media sites.

It is interesting that FB is purposely alienating a substantial group of their target older population. Feels like a bit of desperation to me, but as others have said, that's their choice.

I closed my FB page years ago because I just could never buy into the notion that other people really cared all that much about every detail of my life. I sure don't care that much about seeing pictures of what they had for dinner, etc.

Facebook is a private company. There is no expectation of free speech.

I see this as another toe in the door type thing. They are trying to affect a legal activity that they have no stake in. What's next, the ATF monitoring phone calls to see if one friend is talking to another friend about buying or selling one of their guns. Will they then go after the telephone loophole? There are so many FB users that this announcement makes a bunch of people that don't know any better think that there is a FB loophole just like those that actually believe there is a gun show loophole.
I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

This is a non-sequitur. It's a communications platform and marketed as such, the expectation is that they will treat their customers in a manner that attracts the most to the platform. Being a leftist organization, they don't.

They have a very well known liberal bias and it's reflected in their content decisions. They have also proven to be anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian hate speech, despite Zuckerberg being Jewish.

Absolutely, but they have no reason to behave in any particular way. As a private business, they can do as they wish.
