Oh great now these idiots are going to be saying crap like "we have closed the facebook gun loophole". Lets take bets on what network cnn, msnbc, fox, etc has the first idiot talking head say something like that.

I wonder if this is related to Obama's latest executive order.

Doubtful; the Moms people worked on it when they first became a thing if I remember right. So it probably has more to do with a backroom deal with them and Bloomberg or Zuckerfag whatever his name is. FB made a tweak but didn't ban it; now they are banning all private sales but FFL ads/pages arent.mojo84 wrote:I wonder if this is related to Obama's latest executive order.

I believe face books been heading towards this for a while, didn't they shut down some of the groups a while back but then let them back?
Re: So this just happened: Facebook banning private gun sales
Hmm could be I guess. None of the groups Im in got shutdown. I'll have to look through them tonight after work and see if any went bye bye.rentz wrote:I believe face books been heading towards this for a while, didn't they shut down some of the groups a while back but then let them back?

Who cares? It's Facebook. They have the same rights as everyone else to choose what they want on their website. There are plenty of other websites out there to sell your guns. You have the option of not using Facebook if you don't like it.
Re: So this just happened: Facebook banning private gun sales
I like it though. I haven't sold any that way but occasionally I'll see a nice antique and either try to haggle or just watch what it goes for. I'll keep selling to/through my FFl but a lot of people will lose a way to sell off private guns with this news. The Wall wrote:Who cares? It's Facebook. I deleted my Facebook page 2years ago. All my friends called wanting to know why I unfriended them. I did not, just got tired of looking at dogs, cats and duck pictures in the backyards, what they were having for dinner, etc...
Lots of other sites are available to post items for sale.

"Licensed gun dealers and gun clubs can still maintain Facebook pages and post on Instagram."
Meh.
With that quote, my first thought is that they can't figure out a way to capitalize on the private sales, but licensed dealers (e.g. businesses) more likely than not pay some kind of fee to Facebook....
If they can spin it to look politically correct in the process, that's just a bonus.
But that's PURE speculation about something I have no facts about.
