I mis-made my dad when he came to visit. He had a bulky fanny pack over nylon shorts. I asked him if that's where he was packing and he surprised me by remarking that he was carrying in his pocket (Glock 26).
I've seen lots of folks that looked obvious in the spirit of the original post, but seldom have ever confirmed it.

The best way to "make" someone is when they get out of their automobile and they proceed to take a great deal of effort to "hitch" up their pants. This is how Machine Gun Kelly "made" a plain clothes detective who was getting out of his car during a bank hold-up. Kelly proceeded to murder the cop by shooting through the window where he saw the man in plain clothes. Kelly was with John Dillinger at the time. The cop was wearing a heavy .357 "N" frame S&W on a belt holtser concealed by his suit jacket. I then started making observations too and noticed the men "hitching" up and then when I looked closer, could see the bulge. The above story is from memory and could have a few flaws, but the way the cop was "made" is true.

This is another one that can cause false positives, though. Me, for instance. I don't have a CHL yet (and so I don't carry, if that's in question ) and when I get out of my car, I frequently have to stop for a second and hitch my pants up to where I want them. Combine carrying a smartphone on my waistband, all the stuff that I keep in my pockets, and the fact that my weight fluctuates enough to effect my waist size an inch or two means that a lot of my pants don't settle just quite right.pastor1 wrote:The best way to "make" someone is when they get out of their automobile and they proceed to take a great deal of effort to "hitch" up their pants.
