I'm currently in the hunt for:
1. SIG P299 Legion in 9mm (#1 on the list at present)
2. Dan Wesson C-Bob in 10mm
3. A nice S&W Model 29 or 29-1 (blue, p&r, 6.5") 44 mag.
4. A old Winchester .30-.30 would be nice, too.

There are a lot of old guns I would like to own , mostly golden age rifles , most here would not be interested so would not specify , too boring for modern firearm folk, not a BP form . Most here would like a piece of history , whatever you enjoy is good ! I hope you get your choice !

I also have too many to list, but my list of "hunting for" includes...
Colt Pythons (4" and 2")
Smith & Wesson Model 57 .41 Mag, 4" (wouldn't mind a 6" too, but 4" first)
Smith & Wesson 586 or 686, 4"
I have many others, but these are at the top of my list of "hard to find" -- at least at reasonable prices.

I would love to find a "tip up" pistol in something bigger than a .22
I don't know if they've ever been made in anything bigger than a .22, if not, we need to do it.

If you're talking about what I think you're talking about, take a look at the Beretta Tomcat. It is/was available (not sure if it's still in production) in .25 ACP and .32 ACP.SewTexas wrote:I would love to find a "tip up" pistol in something bigger than a .22

I think that the mechanics of the tip-up barrel (which necessitates a blowback action as opposed to a recoil operated action) would limit the functionality to nothing bigger than a .380 ACP though.
The Tomcat is/was a great concept, particularly for those who have some slide management issues, or who want to chamber/un-chamber frequently without the risk of bullet setback.
Come to think of it, I'd LOVE the concept of a similar gun in a .22 mag....don't ever sell the .22 mag short for armed citizen self-defense. Not too many goblins would stay in the fight with .22 mag coming their way.

Until I quit my job, I would have jumped at a Kimber SIS, Custom. I have the Pro, and I love it.

That Thompson is available for under $2,000...I see them all over the place. A local gun shop has a Barrett......$13,000....and I saw a Bushmaster knock-off the other day on my way to Austin....I think is was $5,000.Syntyr wrote:Ohhhh this is going to get expensive...

A full auto knock off Thompson is at least $17K if you're lucky. You won't even get a cruddy MAC10 for less than $5000 these days. Vintage Thompsons are $25K and up.VMI77 wrote:That Thompson is available for under $2,000...I see them all over the place. Mine would be my old Colt Commander LW that was built by Armend Swenson, I sold it to get the 5" Govt Mdl, if I could find it.

Walther P22, about 12 years ago my father in law and me were at the gun store and found 2 Walthers with serial numbers in order. After he died my mother in law sold his without offering me the chance to buy it.
