need Dallas area glock armorer

Put about 125 rounds today through my g17 gen 4 and ran flawless

Put about 125 rounds of same ammo through my g19 gen 4 today and had 15 FTF. Looks like light primer strikes. I would reload same round and next time they would work. Also had several instances where slide didn't lock back on the last round. Obviously the issue is isolated to my g19 based on same can of ammo being used.

Anybody know someone they would trust to work on a glock and troubleshoot? Certified glock armorer in DFW preferred. The closer to north Irving/Las Colinas the better.

Thanks in advance.

Did you try some other ammo to see if it isn't just the load you're shooting? Also....... Have you modified the trigger mechanism or swapped out any of the springs at all? Have you checked the striker channel for built up gunk?

I had a brand new box of laxammo factory reloads. 500 rounds total. I shot half the can. 125 rounds in a glock 17 with zero issues. 125 rounds in glock 19 with 15 FTF. I can't believe the ammo would be the issue. With a sample size that large the glock 17 would have had at least a few FTF.

There are no mods to the glock. I perform a basic strip and clean after every trip to the range. I don't take the whole glock down and reassemble. I separate the upper with slide and barrel from the lower. Remove the barrel and spring and follow instructions in the manual. I'd rather have someone who knows glocks take is apart further and troubleshoot to see what is causing the FTF.

Easy to remove the striker. Goto http://www.glockmeister.com/FiringPinReplacement.asp. Possibly just needs cleaning. Check the pin end - a diet of hard primers can wear it faster. Maybe new spring - unlikely though. As far as the lock back issue pick one or two before you go to an armorer: a) bad ammo; b) bring your grip up the gun under the beavertail; c) your thumb is on the slide lock; d) the slide lock is worn (more possible if you use it to drop the slide on fresh mag); e) the tab on the magazine is worn (try fresh mag and/or try one round in mag, slide forward to chamber then eject by pulling the slide sharp back, see if it stays). Glocks are easy, and they are dishwasher safe...

This is true, I took my Glock 26 to him to " trick" it out. He asked if it was my CC gun and if everything functions well, I told him yes it's a great gun. He suggested that we leave it alone, I appreciated the fact that he wanted me to keep my gun stock over a sale.

In this lawsuit happy era - he was probably just protecting himself (and by extension, you).

I considered that, but with all the guns he handles what difference could it make?

look at if your striker is getting chewed up by the striker block. I had a 17 Gen 4 that the striker block kinda stuck in the hole for a second. Replaced it with another that I had extra, and it was fine.

I also like Mr. Graham, have heard nothing but great things about him.

ETA: I have had a question about this. The pistol would have functioned fine, it just didn't come out of its hole for disassembly too well because it had a small bur on it. A few passes with a file and then 20 seconds with a felt wheel and it is back in my spare parts bin.

I've always just done the basic strip and clean. Never removed the striker and checked the channel until today. I coudn't belive how much gunk was on the striker, spring, and in the channel area. Dumped the whole striker with spring and all in some hoppes 9 cleaner and let it soak for a few minutes. Then cleaned it and the channel with a clean rag and some qtips. I'm really curious how that much gunk could get in there, as I follow the manual and only lube the 6 places shown.

I'll go to the range again this weekend and see how it does. I have to believe all that gunk was affecting the integrity of the striker, resulting in light hits on the primer.

From my experience with LAX Ammo reloads (~5% FTF in Glocks that have worked fine for thousands of rounds of other brands), I would try different ammo first.
