Should I be concerned?

I mailed my packet certified and the post office website shows it was delivered Monday, the 23rd. It's now Thursday the 26th and the DPS website still says they are waiting on my materials. Should I be worried or is this normal? How long should I wait before I try to find out if my packet was lost or improperly delivered?

Thanks for any feedback.

I wouldn't be worried. It can take 3 weeks or more to finally show status.

:iagree: Three days in "CHL time" seems like three weeks in real time. ;-)

Ha! I know what you mean. I sent in my packet today. Sheesh...my CHL class did the photos...and they didn't match the guidelines. I went to a CVS pharmacy that did passport photos and re-did them.
I guess this whole thing will take a month. Anyway, I figure if I just forget about all of this, the time will go by faster.

Remember the old saying, "A watched pot never boils"? I remember waiting for my license to come from Austin, and I had to make myself kind of forget about it, as much as possible. It's also similar to the old military saying of, hurry up and wait. If you're an upright person, you've got nothing to worry about. You just have to learn to chill out slightly. You'll get it and be really excited, and start to realize what an important trust has been placed on you. Just think, there's a whole lot of wormy people that could never be trusted with a carry license. Welcome to the possee and good luck.

If you haven't already done so, please let the instructor know so he can correct his photo technique.

:iagree: Checking more than once a week just increases stress.

My app sat in a mailbag for over a month...it sucks but it's the reality.

I was advised that it arrives in the mail room first. Makes sense. It was there for a week before the status changed.

I called them when I was waiting and was told it takes 7 days to show a status.

Just wait, it is tough but that's all we can do. Checking too often only makes waiting worse.

I checked mine 6-8 times a day, did not do any good!!
