Need a texaschlforum.com iPhone application
I have been a part of this forum for a while now but have been very actively posting and ready post recently. I was at work today, an being sunday with a texans cowboys game on the work was slow to say the least, I began to surf the forum on my phone. Each time however I have to keep logging in everytime I close my browser, I think someone should develope a phone app for this we site that keeps you logged in and gives instant notifications of pms and stuff. Just thought I'd let everyone in on my idea

Maybe you need another browser for your phone. I have Opera on mine and it keeps me logged in. I never have to log in unless I log out on a previous session. I have 2 other web browsers on my hone and is the same for them. Don't have an iPhone so don't know if it is an iPhone issue.jtran987 wrote:I have been a part of this forum for a while now but have been very actively posting and ready post recently. well regardless of iphone vs blackberry android arguments, i still think an application for a direct connection to the forum would be pretty cool, just a one click deal

Re: Need a texaschlforum.com iPhone application
I pull up another browser window so I don't have the log-in problem, but the layout and font size on the read and compose screens is so tedious to navigate that I only do so when I'm either really bored or I'm following a particular topic of interest, which is rarely. I recall Charles saying there was some sort of virus in a platform to make it happen, or something like that, which is why he didn't want to do it.
Oh wait. Just found it. There was an error in the tap-a-talk installer that allowed vbulletin boards to be spammed through the mobile platform. This is a phpbb board and that error has since been fixed.

Re: Need a texaschlforum.com iPhone application
I would settle for a mobile version of the forum - as Hoi alludes to.

BTW, I'm on WebOS which uses a webkit browser much like diePhone. I also do not have to re-login between sessions.

It works fine on my iPhone, without having to re-login each time. However, you do have to check a box on the login page that tells it to stay logged in. I don't think that box is checked by default.

A native app would still be better than viewing it in the web browser. Since Tapatalk seems to have fixed the security issue, and at the time only vBulletin was vulnerable to it, could it possibly be re-considered here?

Re: Need a texaschlforum.com iPhone application
I don't disagree with you. But generally speaking, a mobile version of the site is easier to implement and would provide an immediate benefit to all mobile platforms. Lets get that in place first, then focus energy on creating platform specific apps.BrianSW99 wrote:A native app would still be better than viewing it in the web browser.
