Has the idea of a thread devoted to cases of "Good guy/gal beats bad" been considered?

It would be nice to have them all in one spot rather than spread all over the board - IMHO of course.

Thank you for a great forum!

I think that's a good idea, but it would require opening up another forum which is sometimes problematic, IMO.

We already have the "Off Topic" forum, which is where those kinds of articles should be placed as it really doesn't fit the other forum categories.

There is single blog devoted to this:

http://www.thearmedcitizen.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (Previously "Civilian Gun Self Defense Blog") by Clayton Cramer, Pete Hunt, and Pete "Loneranger." It devotes itself to citizen use of firearms in self-defense (i.e. it doesn't cover non-firearm defensive stories, like someone who uses only his fists or a knife). It is worth checking periodically, and/or sending stories to as you run across them.

A subforum here takes on the unique perspective of being observed and commented by Texans.. The laws and attitudes vary so much through out the country that what passes for common sense is confused as felonious in other states.

I see your point(s). Thank you for the link, it will be nice to have some "ammo" when talking with the "why would anybody need a gun?" crowd.

It's not difficult to create a new sub-forum. The only concern is that this forum is already pushing the limits on sub-forms (when you have too many, or they sound too specific, people give up and post everything in the "general" forum).

It's Mr. Cotton's call, but I think it would be a good addition. Any reports of defensive use of guns should go there, or be moved there by moderators.

I like the idea, but we're discussing it in the Moderators Forum. There is a concern about adding more sub-forums because of the number we already have.
