Q. to Administrator or Mod. - Missing Post

I posted a reply today (6/11/09) to a thread where my reply simply disappeared, that is never showed up in the thread despite clicking the Submit button. Can it be retrieved from the server somehow so that it can be posted?
The subject of the thread was "Advice on Shooting Glasses" and the originating post was made on 6/10/09. I can't imagine that the post violated any forum rules such that it would have been held for any reason.

Chuck, it doesn't appear it was deleted by a mod, so apparently it just never posted to the thread; not sure why. There is no way to retrieve it. You will need to post again.

I've had this happen once or twice also. Once it was a mystery, once it was when the innertoobz connection dropped just as I hit submit.

When I type up a long post, I often copy the whole thing before hitting submit, just in case...

Sometimes I've noticed that if I take too long typing a reply after I hit "submit" I can see my post in the thread, but I have to hit the "submit" button again. Sometimes I will get up to go do something in the middle of a reply or I will stop and google something before continuing. I haven't had this problem, but I think that if I did not notice the second button it would not accept the post.

Chuck - we didn't delete your post. I don't know why that happens sometimes, but it has happened to me too. And when it does, I don't know where the post goes, but its gone. :confused5 No way to get it back.

So, try to remember what it was you said and try it again. We are waiting....

I know when I post from work (not that I would ever do that) :nono: probably 3 out of 4 times the first time I hit submit it will log me off instead of posting it :headscratch I can usually go right back, log in and submit again and it works. I have learned to copy before hitting submit just as ELB said in his post. I figure it may be a firewall thing for me at work since it doesn't happen at home.
