Okay, everyone sit down before reading further. I have a MySpace.com account. Yes, 58 years old and I have a MySpace account. When you finish laughing, read on. (My 33 year old son is still laughing!)
At the last NRA committee/board meetings, I was briefed on NRAs new MySpace and FaceBook accounts and how well they were doing. I won't bore you with the details, but some of the "kids" at HQ convinced the old guys that it was a good idea, if we want to reach an entirely new generation of potential members. I was convinced, so I finally had the time to ask a girl in my office to help me set it up. (She's 28 and she laughed too.) So if any of you MySpace gurus have any suggestions as to what I should do to the website to get more exposure for the TexasCHLforum, please let me know. I am particularly interested to see if it is possible to set up some type of RSS feed from the new blog I started (
http://www.TexasCHLblog.com) so that anything I post on it becomes a bulletin on MySpace.
Thanks,
Chas.

I think that is an excellent idea.
If you want to communicate with the "young 'uns", you have to go where they are. Simple.

I'm 30. I have a blog. I don't see the point of myspace or anything like that. But I guess I'm not the target market of those "social networking" sites. I hope it works out well for you and the 2A cause.

you can put pictures (not just in the allotted pictures area, but everywhere), you can also imbed videos, music players, and allow people to leave comments on your page, too.
I see the best use of MySpace for bands, hoping to get their music out to an audience without radio play.
but this is as well a great idea. I would suggest keeping if dynamic, as in, adding new pics now and again, adding blogs now and again, maybe have updates about NRA/TSRA/CHL stuff, like bills being filed, the Joe Horn case...
basically, I'm taking a lot of cues from this forum, and I think you could use that as a guide.
just saying, as a "young'un" that uses MySpace ALL the time.

I am not a kid either

, so have only the foggiest idea of the ins and outs of myspace and facebook and all that. I only hear about them when somebody makes the news doing something spectacularly stupid and a reporter quotes, post-humously, the strange things they put on MySpace. (Hint: don't put strange thoughts on your MySpace page -- nor do spectacularly stupid things!)
But ignorance never stopped anyone from making recommendations! So, Since I see you can list the NRA website as a "friend," you might want to also add the Campus Concealed Carry organization
http://www.concealedcampus.org/.
Good luck. I'll be watching this with interest.

D'oh! Just noticed that Concealed Campus carry has a Facebook presence. Don't know if you can belong to two tribes at once?

My three daughters could certainly help you as they are on myspace or facebook all the time. However, I haven't got the foggiest idea of how they work. Maybe that's why they call me the old fogy.

First thing that comes to mind, video your Thunder Under demo the next time you do it for a Women's Clinic. That'll draw interest!

I leave you with that!
