I have been playing around with the software trying to learn how to run a blog. Kalrog helped me by giving me suggestions and explaining the benefits and shortcomings of each. I chose to use more elaborate software than I need at the moment, but Kalrog said it was good if you need a CMS application. As time went on, it became obvious that I did. Especially since I'll be launching another political blog closer to the 2009 Texas Legislative Session.

Unlike many blogs, I don't plan to use it just to post my personal opinions an any particular subject. There's nothing wrong with that, it's just not what I plan for that site. I intend to use it to post information about bills, training events, etc. and when the election gets into full swing, I'll be posting campaign related material as well. Then, when the 2009 Texas Legislative Session begins, I'll use it for that as well.

I suspect most of the posts I make on TexasCHLblog will be repeated here on the forum, except for the longer ones that could bump against the maximum character limits in Olympus. There won't be too many of those, I'm pretty sure.

There isn't much there now, but if you want to have a look it's at http://www.TexasCHLblog.com.

Chas.

Tried it just now but was unable to get it to open.

Also, about an hour ago, I had to use the alternate link for the forum.

I just set the redirector about two hours ago, so it'll take some time for it to propagate. Meanwhile, it should be reachable at http://www.texasshooting.com/blog.

Sorry for the trouble,
Chas.

Worked fine from here.

The title has an extra space. looks like "TexasCH Lblog" Looks good, I'll link to it on my blog. Is the rss feed thing working? This will be a tremendous resource in the next legislative session, and will be helpful on getting the word out. I think that you might be pleasantly surprised on the importance that the blog will take. The blogosphere really latches on to sources of good reliable information.

Are you interested in having additional posters and/or administrators?

Good job, Chas!

Bit of a point about blogs... the best ones are updated at least several times per week. I know you don't want to post personal stuff, but there is a lot going on right now with Heller and various other things. Are you interested in posting anything about that case? I don't know if you can (your NRA position and all that), but an static blog dies fast.

I'm sure you will have a ton to post in a year - especially with the Texas focus of the blog - but what about now? The offer to help is still out there.
