Web host maintenance

Here is a copy of a maintenance notice I received from my web host. Apparently, we may experience some problems on Feb. 8 or 9th, but it looks like it will be short-lived. It should also occur during periods of minimal activity on the forum.

Here is the notice:

Our US upstream provider Savvis informed us that they are planning maintenance of their network. The maintenance is scheduled to occur between 23:00 on Feb 08, 2008, and 04:00 on Feb 09, 2008, Eastern time.

In this window, Savvis engineers will replace the management modules of their core datacenter routers, for better performance of the devices. As the work is in progress, customers may experience packet loss, latency or connectivity issues. The maintenance involves activity of network engineers at several locations (Boston, New York, Chicago, Saint Louis) and the expected disruption of service is between 20 and 120 minutes.
