May have messed up on application please help

#1

Post by Fireman1912 »

I just submitted my application I checked the never been arrested box as I don't believe I have been. BUT, in Indiana in 1995 I got into a accident and did not have insurance as mine literally expired the month before and my fantastic ex-wife didn't renew it when she was supposed to so I got a ticket, paid all the fines and paid for the other people's car damage. The lawyer handled it and I think I got differed adjudication. I think. Should I have clicked yes?

Were you actually arrested? As in, photographed and fingerprinted by a law enforcement agency?

If not, then you have nothing to worry about. If yes, then contact DPS on Monday and let them know you need to amend your application.

When I went to pay the fine they took my picture and finger prints. But if I remember correctly I was told that it would be taken off my record. Not trying to hide anything with dps but dont want to say yes when no or no when yes, just want to get it right. I do know on my FD background checks it never came up. Another problem is the sheriffs dept was absorbed to the city police so that agency is no more, so I can't even call them to check.

Most traffic tickets in Texas are Class "C" misdemeanors which, while criminal offenses, are punishable by a fine not to exceed $1000.00.

Driving without insurance is not a good idea, and there are severe penalties for doing so. First time offenders are subject to a fine of up to $350, plus court costs, and may be assessed additional fees as authorized by Transportation Code Chapter 708:

Repeat offenders face fines of up to $1,000 and a two (2) year driver license suspension.
by the way you describe it ///probably nothing to worry about

Called dps today and asked about if I needed to amend and they said don't worry about it, if they find something they will ask for more information. Ran background with Indiana and nothin came up on the county clerks site so I guess it's just a waiting game now. Thanks for the advice.
