Topic Symbols

I know what the "Lock" means.

Sometimes the topic symbols are wavy, sometimes red, sometimes blue. Sometimes there is a red star in the smbol or a green smiley. Other times the topic symbol is lightbulb shape.

I'm sure the various topic symbols mean something to somebody. Do I need to know what they mean or should I just count sheep?

The star means that you participated in the topic. The wavy lines mean that new messages have been posted since you last looked at that topic.

Those are the ones that I find meaningful. I'm sure there are subtle clues that I am ignoring.

The red ones mean there are new posts that you haven't read yet .
The blue ones are ones with no new posts .
The ones with the red star are topics that you have made a post on .
The scrolling ones..nobody knows for sure ..I think they mean "hot topics"

You will also notice the little red square next to some of the circles .
If you click that , you will go directly to the first unread post .

Also , the green smiley ones ( ) are ones that have been moved to the proper section.
And the light bulb ones are stickies that won't/can't move.

Thanks guys. I knew that someone knew what the topics meant.

Now I have to find something else to worry about...after I get through worrying about the state of the State. :patriot:

I was wondering what the scrolling ones were.
Out of curiosity I went to the oldest page of posts in one of the sections from 05.
There were 2 topics scrolling.
I thought I had figured it out that meant that some one was reading that topic.
But with only 17 users online there's no way others are as bored as I am apparently.

Thank you for posting this, I had a similar question and had been searching for the answer  .

Is there a way to have the legend posted somewhere as a "sticky"?

I think it would be a good subject for the FAQ.

It's come up before. http://www.texaschlforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=13225" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

These two have been bugging me for a while. Cool.
