Hmmm...it's working for me.
There's a pop-up PM window?

It must have been blocked by my popup blocker this entire time "rlol"

Its an option that you can set in the user control panel .

Even AFTER I set the option in the user control panel, the pop up was still being blocked because I didn't allow it, until I reset the popup blocker in my Norton 360 a.v. software. Now it works great.

Fixed it . Just had to go into the browser settings to allow pop ups for the new server address.

Thanks Joe . :thumbs2:

You know you've been reading the CHL forum TOO LONG when everytime you log in and see the first part of the title of this thread, you think it's something about a

Great site !!

Assuming you are running this on a linux server, You should be able to create an htaccess file that will redirect the links that point to the old folder to the new url

That would save you from having to do a global search and replace on the database - which as you know can destroy the database

im no htaccess expert but an htaccess file in the root of http://www.texasshooting.com/TexasCHL_Forum" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; could be created to redirect all the urls to the correct new url

for example you could change
http://www.texasshooting.com/TexasCHL_F ... 13&t=24130" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
to

Code: Select all

http://www.texaschlforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=24130
with the htaccess, by looking for the texaschl_forum folder and replace it and everything before it with http://www.texaschlforum.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This is of course assuming you own and will continue to have rights to http://www.texasshooting.com/TexasCHL_Forum/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Hi Doug, welcome to the forum and thanks for the tip.

This certainly looks like a much better plan! Yes, I still own TexasShooting.com so I just need to find out what needs to go into the .htaccess file.

Wow, this evening is the first time I've been able to view the site since it came down for relocation.

Even this morning, I was still seeing this:
