Maintenance: Board down tonight AGAIN!

I am going to change some files to allow links to open in a new window. I'll start this at midnight and if everything goes well, the board should be down for only about 10 minutes. If you get up tomorrow morning and the board is still down, then you'll know it go well.

The second part of the upgrade is complete and everything appears to be working. Links should now open in a new window.

Please let me know if you see any bugs since this last upgrade.

Thanks,
Chas.

Is this happening to anyone else? It's working fine on my machines. However, I am having this problem on the forum at TexasIDPA.com and I can't figure out why.

Thanks,
Chas.

Now it looks like it is just some of the links that are opening in the same window.

Charles,
I see some link opening in the same window; some links open in a new window; and some links are opening in the same window AND in a new window at the same time.

Charles:

These anomalies may be rooted in conflicts between the forum software settings and the user's browser settings, as well as the user's choice of browser.

On my machine, links on the forum open in a new window in Internet Explorer, and in a new tab in the same window in Mozilla Firefox. Both browsers are set to open a new tab in the same window.

The browser settings for this are found at:

Internet Explorer

Tools > Internet Options > General Tab > Tabs - Settings Button > Open Links from Other Programs In:

- A new window
- A new tab in the current window
- The current tab or window

Mozilla Firefox

Tools > Options > Tabs:

New pages should be opened in:

- A new window
- A new tab in the current window

The underlined choices are the ones I have selected on my Windows Vista machine to produce the results I described.

I should have mentioned I'm using Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 3.0.
