IP banned

Post by Frankie »

Getting a page saying
A ban has been issued on your IP address.

Happens from home on my ATT issues IP address. (Have Gigapower internet service) I’ve had this IP for 3 years, not sure why it would have gotten the ban. All antivirus are updated and I run a IDS. Not seeing any indication of a infected machine on the network.
I also ran a search in the big Blacklisted IP DBs and I don’t see my IP listed on any of then.

Is it just for this site or others as well?

I’m experiencing the same issue. I too have ATT Gigapower service.

I do not have the same experience on other sites.

If you folks will give me your IP addresses, I'll check to see if they are banned.

If you are seeing your IP address banned, do a search and see where your IP address is registered. I just checked one for a Member and it resolves to Denmark. We have banned entire blocks of IP addresses because spammers were using those extensively.

If you are using a service that hides your IP address by spoofing a fake one, it may cause you problems if it spoofs a foreign IP address. We can't open up to spammers to accommodated hiding your IP address.

I have trouble sometimes with ip blocks when I'm using a VPN.
Turn off the VPN and the problem goes away.

When I'm in Asia, I just skip the forum, since I don't get online from China/Taiwan/etc without a VPN.
Sometimes I can log in to a USA server and can read the forum, sometimes that still gets me blocked.

The only time I get the banned notice is when I use my VPN and it depends on where the VPN gives my location.
