Off-Topic forum?

Post by Seburiel »

Heya, Charles, and the other fine mods:
I am curious about whether or not you could be persuaded to have an off-topic forum for those discussions which veer-off into non CHL/gun-related territory?

We have brought this up, but a decision has not been reached yet. Mr. Cotton is in the middle of changing and adding some things including Moderators. He has been pretty busy and I am sure we will have an answer before to long. Keep your fingers crossed. ;-)

I agree. An off topic forum would be great since many folks on here have good opinions about things other than guns. That's going by many of the private messages that I get and have discussions about other things there. I was about to post about it when I saw this thread. Please do it!

I believe that there are many who would welcome it.

Yah...plus in case of "politcal" banter or whatever it would keep it out of the main area

This was discussed in a previous thread in May and the Site Administrator had this to say.
Charles L. Cotton wrote:We have had at least three requests for a true "general" section and after considering it, we decided not to take on that project for the reasons Glockenhammer stated.

The forum has grown a great deal in the last several months and the workload as increased by at least 50%. In fact, we are trying to change the way we cover the forum to distribute this workload better. Taking on additional work just isn't in the cards, at least not now.
