What about schools? Every school I've entered the last few years scans your DL to verify you aren't a sex offender. The device they use runs the check and prints a visitors badge. I would think that "electronically readable information" would include any information that was read by electronics, whether it be by optical scan or mag-stripe swipe. Is it possible to use an inexpensive card reader to get the info? Yes. Is it legal? Presumably, no.
