That's so true.jbarn wrote:Only the ones with REALLY BAD food.Neverpanic1 wrote:Are generally ALL alcohol serving restaurants 51% posted ?
That could happen if a separate business runs the bar but then it would be the bar that's required to post the red sign.skeathley wrote:However, it is possible for a restaurant to have a bar inside with a lot of walk-in business. If the bar is under separate ownership, IT may be marked 51%, and not the restaurant. If same ownership, and the bar does a lot more business than the restaurant, then that could push the alcohol revenue over 51%, but the restaurant would then have to post 51%.
If he sells alcohol, then he is required to post one of the two signs by TABC. You can look at the TABC database here http://www.tabc.state.tx.us/PublicInquiry/Status.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; to see which sign he should have. If it says Gun Sign BLUE, then you can carry there with no 30.06. Gun Sign RED means it's a 51% location and you can't carry there. If he has the wrong sign posted, then TABC needs to be advised and they will make sure he posts the right one.Neverpanic1 wrote:Thanx Guys ! I was asking only because I spoke with a local restaurant owner about the possibility of posting a "CHL WELCOME HERE" decal on their front door and he said he couldn't because they sold alcohol. I asked about the 51% and they mentioned they were posted.
Whether TABC posted or "self-posted" is unknown. I've yet to visit them....and probably won't.
