7 of 13 students in my class today showed up with revolvers. 4 of them were 5 shot. This is a record for me. Anyone else seeing a resurgence of revolvers since the removal of "class" on the license?

That's amazing. I've never had one person use a revolver.
Chas.

I saw one once. Poor girl tried to qualify using a snub S&W 642 because somebody told her handling revolvers was easier for women than semi-autos.
She didn't pass

Had three in my last class. Up until then I only had one. A lady with a 3" .38...and she could shoot it!

doesn't the new law do away with the distinction between revolvers and pistols in regard to qualification?

Yes I does. Prior to taking my CHL class, I didn't own any "concealed carry" automatics. Had it been legal to qualify with a revolver and still carry a semi-automatic, I would have used a revolver.

I've had at least 3 with revolvers since the law changed. Prior to that, maybe one every two years. Last one was a lady with a NICE 4" Python.

Is there an unNICE Python?

I've had several women, as well as quite a few men qualify recently with revolvers.
My last class, I had a guy shoot a 249 with a Judge (.45 Long Colt) ! ! KIinda doubt if that'd be his EDC.
And, NO! There's no such thing as an unNICE Python. I shot my instructor qual. with my dad's 6" blue Python. Then he made me return it quickly when he found out how much they're going for nowadays.

I think that's the rub. As you no longer need to qualify with an automatic to carry both, use whatcha got..

OK, I have a question if someone shows up to take the test with a revolver, or for that matter with an auto that holds fewer than 10 rounds.
The required course of fire at 3 yards says:
B.Ten shots(10)fired in a “Two Shot Exercise” 3 seconds allowed for each two shot sequence
This means that a gun has to hold at least 10 rounds in order to fire five consecutive two shot strings.
How do you get around that?

No. You load 6 rounds (fired two at a time), then load 4 more (and fire those two at a time).
