Well, got the instructor certificate and scheduled first class for this weekend and have 45 scheduled! Might be just a LITTLE intimidating, but have detailed plans to get it done.

Have any of you "experienced" guys had classes this large and do you have any advice?

I'm not an instructor but I do a lot of large audience public speaking. My tips include;
Jingling change and/or keys in your pockets
Saying the words; like, anyways, uh, and um
Laughing at your own jokes
PowerPoint poisoning.

I counted 13 targets. I sure as heck hope you are not intending to supervise 13 shooters at a time all by yourself.

That said, I sure wish you good fortune for your first class.

Just an observation. Those metal barrels will be heavy for some of your students to move. Might consider some plastic. About $10 each in DFW area. Likely less expensive elsewhere. Good luck. Where are you located?

I've got 4 RSO's and am planning on shooting 11-12 shooters. I've tried to find plastic drums but haven't gotten there yet. So I have 2 shooters sharing a barrel and should be fairly easy to move together.

That berm is 13 feet.

Look in Craigs list. There are multiple adds in Houston for 55 gallon plastic barrels for $10. I'm sure you'll find some in your area.

Quite an ambitious first class! Congrats and Good Luck!

I have a question for you. I am taking my Instructor course next month. When were you certified? How did you go about setting up your first class? Marketing?

Thanks. Any info would be appreciated.

Sam's and Costco usually have large industrial-sized trash cans that can use the 55-gal liners (making cleanup even easier).

Plastic trash cans work just fine. Then when it is time to police up the brass you flip them over and use them to collect.
