Paperwork to Submit for Instructor Cert

#1

Post by conn6554 »

I filled out the application online paid the fees and taken the FAST fingerprints.

Its been 5 weeks with no notice and I know there's a class coming up.

Am I missing paperwork?

They only schedule instructor classes periodically. It may be several months before one comes available. They will notify you when you are scheduled.

Thanks. I guess I'm just too anxious. Just got my CHL renewal and completed NRA pistol instructor cert. so I'm chomping at the bit to get going!

If you applied for the abbreviated class since you are already an instructor (Tue - Fri vs. Mon - Fri), that may be even a longer wait due to the fact they don't schedule a lot of those. I had that issue and had to wait a little over a month longer because of it.

No, I'm taking the full class. Literally just finished pistol cert last weekend.

I appreciate all the good info!

They will notify you by email. As Kevin, said, it may take a while. It's hard to be patient, but there is little else you can do and they don't appreciate being prodded repeatedly for updates. You can check the status of your app online, though. Good Luck! :txflag:

Oops! I am SO Sorry!!
What can I say...momentary complete loss of brain function. I also know someone whose name is Kevin and for some reason one became interchanged with the other when I typed it. How embarrassing. I DO know your name is Keith not Kevin! However, the crack about Good Kirk/Bad Kirk did make me laugh

You are most likely missing the CHL-90 form. You must print this off & fill it out by pen, then email or fax this form to DPS
