Stopped in at Majestic on 820 east in Ft Worth and they ahve added 51% signs. They also have the unlicensed posession of handguns sign on the door. I asked the manager what was going on with this, as unless something has changed there should not be a 51% sign. He told me that the TBAC put them up. I will be following up with this on Monday. Has anyone else seen this?

I thought I recalled reading here that TABC usually sends owners BOTH signs, red and blue, and the owner is supposed to put up the correct sign.

I'd notify the TABC of the incorrect signage and they can show the owner were the license says "blue" and correct the error, while teaching the owner.

Not legal. Hence: Unenforceable.

If you know the owners, or are comfortable enough to talk with them, you may ask for their license and show them where it shows Sign = Blue. If you call TABC, if they go in, they will fine the liquor store, so if you can save them money, its a good thing

I've never heard or read about TABC actually "putting up" signs, as in physically. But if that is what the manager is telling you.. then just write or call TABC and ask for clarification. Seeing as how the very rules they create would seem to forbid the placement of that sign .... It is however a government run operation so no telling if reality intersects with the Law or Regulations published.

I heard back from the TABC and the signage has been corrected.
