Doesn't matter. Apparently, you and I are not invited to the party.

No audio or video recording

• Be ON TIME for the class - This includes the break periods

• Be alert and give your attention to the instructor - (not on laptops, cell phone, or personal conversations)

• Turn cell phone to ‘vibrate’ or ‘off’

• If you need to take an urgent call, please do so during breaks

• Smoking is allowed only in designated areas (this includes electric)

I guess there has been a problem in the past. :rules: Let's see.... the old one day renewal was 1/2 day at the range and 1/2 day in class. Now we will be in class for 9-10 hours.

Maybe you'll sit in the class waiting for 6 hours before they begin giving you information.

I got the same message today. Is it me, or does the tone of their email seem a little abrupt?

I figured it would take all day. That's longer than when we had to shoot and renew.

Further instructions for/about the proficiency? Do we need to wait until after class to shoot? What's different about qualifying fellow instructors? Other than 90% vs. 70%.

On 9/15/2013 I replied to an email from RSD_LRS_CHL@dps.texas.gov and requested a spot in the CHL Instructor Renewal Class in Georgetown on 11/6/2013. Having heard nothing from them, I sent a second email request on 10/10/2013.

Today after seeing on this forum that a number of instructors have received confirmation for a spot in Georgetown and others received notification of classes in Mesquite, I called the DPS/CHL Unit. The good news is that I was only on hold about 20 minutes. The bad news is that Darrell could only tell me that it is not unusual not to hear from them, that Instructor Renewals are handled by another section, and that he could not transfer my call.

I am at a bit of a loss. They are not responding to my emails. The phone call today yielded nothing. I have tried unsuccessfully several times in the past to contact the CHL Unit via the "Contact Us" section of their web page, but I will try once again.
