Sent off for my application

Post by gregthehand »

I sent off my initial information to DPS to get my application form to go to the instructors course. How long does it take to get this packet back? Will I need to go get my fingerprints made again? What all can I do in advance to smooth out the process? Any suggestions will be helpful.
My posts on this website are worth every cent you paid me for them.

Sent mine off during the last week of Feb. Got my packet 2 days ago.... I'm in! Greg, I sent you a PM, did you get it? Hopefully we can meet up in Roundrock.

I got my packet in late but hopefully I will make the cut for the June 11th class. I spoke with Marion at the CHL office and she got me out a packet ASAP and I had it completed and sent back next day. They have it now so I have my fingers crossed!

Obviously Going to Have to Wait Another 12 Months

I did my online app 4 weeks ago and never received my packet, despite the online status showing it was mailed three weeks ago. Called last Friday and they said they'll mail me another Tuesday, but not to expect arrival for 7 to 10 days. Obviously won't be in time to get in on this year's class.
