Longtooth,
That's good to hear. I hope it is the same case here. I guess the idea of helping them online during the class would work, but where I teach, it would require me buying wireless service from Sprint or someone. I also think that would take longer than explaining the paper application. We don't fill it out entirely, I just explain the problem areas where people screw up.
I guess my real concern is that it is hard enough to get people into a class even when they have signed up. Maybe it is our area. Like yesterday, 14 were signed up 10 showed. 10 had prepaid, 4 only had a deposit down. 2 that paid in full and two that paid a deposit didn't show. ?????????????? People must have more money to waste than me.

I'm also not buying the "it will be faster argument" I have had many students get heir plastic in less than 45 days, the fastest was 28 days. So if it is gonna be faster I suppose instantly would be in order. All rolled prints, paper app, paper affidavits, just good old know how. Do it right the first time.

Re: New Update for Instructors DPS website
I have been sending all of my students to the L1 locations for their fingerprints. I know that it saves a lot of time and I am glad that I don't have to trouble with rolling fingerprints. It opens me up to have larger classes as it does not require more time on processing students.
I live in the Fort Worth area so there are several locations in the DFW metroplex for students to get them done at and it wouldn't require them to travel more than 20-25 miles to reach one. I do see the inconvenience for people living in rural areas.
I did have a student tell me that they had issues trying to register online to get their fingerprints done at the L1 fast center he said it would not accept his trace code that was on his receipt from filling out his online application. He is trying to contact L1 and he will keep me posted on the issue. Has anyone else had similar issues?
