Check your local ranges and see of they how they work with instructors, around here some do and some don`t.
If your a member of the NRA they do offer insurance, so you may want to look at that.
On student prices , check on local prices from other instructors and try to be fair , but it also I think is it also what you bring to table too. Like not all instructors can do prints/notary, ect.

Prints and notary are all going electronic soon, there will be no need for those services.

The place we will teach has the gun shop, classroom and range all at the same location.

I am trying to bring him business, and he is trying to bring us business as well.

Our deal is 20 buck per head for the classroom and range with a minimum of 200 bucks per session. If I have some very small groups I will teach out of my office and pay him 20 bucks per student for the range.
Just remember shot placement is much more important with what you shoot than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.
