Many of you know I have recently hurt my back. Well.... back problems that I have been dealing with for many years, but this past week had the acute injury that put me down. I already had a class scheduled for Sat (07/24), and have never, never, ever cancelled a class. I sure didn't want to start now, especially at the last minute.
So, I figured I could tough it out. It's just one day, right? And then, the doc says I have to stop all the narcotics on Thursday so that I am off the meds for at least a week before surgery. And I know, deep down, this is NOT gonna work. I can barely stand, even WITH the pain meds. Without them, I don't even want to crawl out of bed. We need a Plan B.
SJFControl has sat in on a few of our recent classes, and was at the instructor school this past week. So, I called him up and asked if he was ready to teach his first class. And, like the trooper he is, he said YES! So, he drives home from class on Friday, then gets up and hauls himself all the way over to Cabela's in Ft Worth on Sat morning. We put a mic on him, stood him up in front of the class, and tossed him to the wolves. Well, not exactly abandoned him, I sat in front of him and coached here and there.
But, he did a fine job, and this class would not have been possible without him! So, thanks for stepping in at the absolute last minute. SJF! We sure appreciate you!
THANKS to sjfcontrol!

Re: THANKS to sjfcontrol!
Thanks for the kind words, Crossfire. Glad I could help! I really wasn't expecting to have my first class within 24 hours of receiving my Instructor's Certificate -- makes me wonder if that was some kind of record.
Again, I'm pleased to help. You get better quickly now!
