Back from Class

Its finished, and am so glad the renewals with be online.

The class was LOOOOONG, but interesting, the speakers were for the most part enjoyable even with pretty dry subject matter. The exception was one person whom I will not name, :rules: I think everyone knows who she is.

Sgt Bamsch is devoted to taking the program to the next level even though he has a limited budget. limited staff. It can and should be streamlined and I am sure in the next year or so that will be the case.

The Hotel was ( i can not use the words on this forum ) every day the homeless, prostitutes, and crack heads could be found outside and apparently thieves as well for we had three car broken into broad daylight with DPS car close by ,even a canine unit.
I stayed at the Holiday inn express (did not make me any smarter) but I got my room for 72.00 night with 1-800-Hotels, reg price was 119.00. It was just up the road and yes we had the same people out front though not on the property as the Saint. So for those of you to follow beware and I recommend using your CHL.

The written test was too easy, and was reviewed just before the test.

There are a few places to eat just down the feeder road and its very easy trip to Lamar st for http://www.threadgills.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and many others. I recommend maybe to get a group for the evening at Threadgills they have a small banquet room that will sit 60. Foods good, price is right and you get seconds on veggies. :cheers2:

You might take your own chair or seat cushion. I had a butt rash at the end of day two.

Yes you can carry, just don't whip it out for show and tell and all's good, do not leave guns in your car because everyone in Austin knows this class is being held. Lock them in your room safe or bring to class in a bag.

The trip to the range was 40min and I must say I was impressed, they have the driving school there as well and its all just being completed and look awesome. Just past the driving range was the Gun range, exactly how mine will look :fire , OK instead of 60 lanes just 4. It is state of the art and was just awe inspiring just being there. PLEASE turn your cell phone off for they will spin the targets and the SGT gets a little upset. I must say I was nervous coming to the line but once under way it was fun.

I did not get a 250/250, I had a FTF with my revolver so I lost 5 points but I just don't see anyone failing this part unless your weapon fails but you get two more tries if needed.

I was on the way home by 10am of course I stopped for BBQ in Elgin at Meyers, it was good not great BBQ, I should have diverted to Lockhart to one of the big three

I plan on teaching older groups and ladies classes, and some corporate. That is if I ever get any spare time from my two other jobs :txflag:

I am sure others can add to this post, forgive the English my ancestors were Scottish
